**Job Overview**:

- Job Purpose: To represent Initial Hospital Services and the Trust in a positive manner, exhibiting courtesy and efficiency to patients, visitors and users of the Service at all times. To be involved in direct communication with patients, visitors and users of the Service, utilising necessary skills relating to understanding and compassion when necessary.

**Main Duties**
- Job Statement: 1. The conveyance of patients between departments, wards and buildings.

2. Transport and deliver equipment, medical records, mail, meals, specimens, furniture and linens etc

3. Collection and conveyance of cadavers from ward areas to the mortuary.

4. The collection of refuse, cardboard, glass and their segregation for disposal

5. May be required to drive Company or Client vehicles to carry out duties

6. May be required to assist in emergency situations as reasonably required

7. 7. May be required to support domestic service provision as applicable by existing contract.

13. Physical Effort Frequent moderate effort for several short periods; occasional intense effort for several short periods Move patients; Push and pull patients in beds, trolleys and wheelchairs for most of the shift; Move furniture 3 12

14. Mental Effort General awareness, sensory attention; work pattern predictable/Frequent concentration; predictable work pattern Check patient details and gas cylinder gauges. Strict adherence to regulations governing the handling of medical gases. Concentration is required when driving a vehicle. 2 7
