Senior Production Operative

**Hours**: 37.5 Hours per week

**Reporting to**: Production Manager **Base**:_ _Office based (Great Blakenham, UK)

**Job Purpose**:
The Senior Production Operative manufactures flavourings and extracts under the instruction and guidance of the Production Manager, adhering to quality and safety procedures always. Based in the production environment, the role has production supervisor accountability when the Factory Supervisor is absent for incoming goods, production, warehouse, and dispatch areas. This includes the supervising of people, plant, and processes to deliver the most effective customer services and safe, cost-effective operations.

**Core Responsibilities**

Assisting the Production Manager in the daily factory operations when the Factory Supervisor is absent.

Demonstrate clear and responsible supervisor guidance to drive the best team performance.

Ensuring the site, factory and its equipment is clean, tidy, and conforming to quality standards always.

Actively role model the highest standards and continually working to reduce the Non-Conformances from the Factory.

Producing safe products to specification.

Ensuring a safe working environment and conforming to health and safety regulations.

Manufacture flavourings and ingredients according to build instructions and to specification.

General warehouse duties.

Ensuring customer demand and order fulfilment plan is met, utilising resources effectively to deliver.

Attends the sales and operational planning session when appropriate, owning production input and outputs from that process.

Adhere to company policies.

Proactive with bringing forward new ideas for improvement and solutions to challenges.

Production schedule alignment with customer demand plan and raw material purchasing plan.

Completing tasks on time and in full.

Accuracy of manufacturing builds

Reduction of NCRs and internal audit scores.

Monitoring of the monthly checklist.

Supervision of Intake and Despatch department
- daily tasks when appropriate.

Liaising with sales and logistics in the absence of the production manager and factory supervisor.

Collating weekly and monthly reports for the production manager when the factory supervisor is absent.

**Qualifications**

Maths, Science and English GCSE (or equivalent), graded A*-C.

**Experience**

Food Production experience (2+ years desirable)

**Skills & Knowledge**

Understanding of ERP/IT systems (desirable)

Understanding of Food Safety and GMP.

Able to understand QC and NPD functions.

Knowledge of production planning and quality control principles.

Forklift Truck trained (essential)

Detail-oriented
