THE PARK

Mortonhall Caravan & Camping Park is part of Meadowhead Ltd and has been in business 45 years and is Scotland’s largest touring park and based in the City of Edinburgh. We are an award winning park having achieved numerous Trip Advisor ‘Certificate of Excellence Awards’. We offer primarily touring and camping pitches all year round as well as holiday homes, camping pods (Wigwams) and shepherd huts to hire

THE POSITION

We are looking for a person who has a pleasant, positive personality as this is a customer service role. You will enjoy multi-tasking and variety and will possess the right attitude to deliver excellent customer service as such the role would be desirable for someone with previous customer service experience. The role will require working in 8.5 hours shifts between mainly 8.00 a.m. - 7.00 p.m. and on occasion up to 9.00 p.m. in July & August (average 42.5 hours per week over 5 days including some weekends, so flexibility will be required. We will also offer personal training and development.

Ultimately we are looking for someone with the can-do attitude to work on our front desk on a daily basis ensuring guests are checked in and out as well as taking bookings face to face as well as over the telephone in a positive manner and a variety of administrative and shop tasks to a high standard.

THE LOCATION

Set on the south side of the City of Edinburgh between Fairmilehead and Gilmerton and located on the historic Mortonhall Country Estate. Our guests tell us that they enjoy the country setting yet located within the city Very well served by the number 11 bus.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Greet & welcome guests

Checking in guests, checking guest requirements and payments and allocating the correct type of pitch or accommodation.

Assist guests with local and tourist information.

Assist with guest queries/complaints in a professional manner.

Supervise and train reception team taking a lead.

Ensure reception is clean, tidy and presentable and ready to operate.

Assist in the preparation of arrivals and departures ensuring the park management system is updated. This may involve carrying our external pitch checks.

Assist and administer group bookings.

To assist with administrative tasks such as bookings, cash reconciliation, daily banking and reporting, invoicing input and queries.

Assist with the small shop operation taking in deliveries, stacking shelves, deliveries, checking sell by dates, rotating stock and stocktaking.

To assist with compiling reports.

To assist with social media accounts.

Opening and closing reception as required on occasions.

Ensure the security of all company property including stock, keys, equipment and buildings.

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS

A positive, proactive attitude.

Excellent communicator and customer service focused.

An ability to multi-task, organise and problem solve.

Detailed administrator

An ability to work accurately in, on occasions, a fast paced environment.

Previous experience in a customer facing environment.

Flexible regards working patterns.

An ability to adapt to changing levels in business.

Excellent grammar and numeracy.

High standards of presentation.

DESIRABLE REQUIREMENTS

Experience of working in a leisure business.

Use of tills.

Experience of previous computerised booking systems.

Dealing with customers face to face.

Administration experience including cashing up.

Previous experience with Xero accounts package

Sales and retail experience

Previous experience dealing with bookings systems

Previous leadership experience as you will be the main receptionist and seasonal receptionist will look for guidance.

Complaint handling

Use of Social media especially facebook.

Opening and Closing premises.

First aid Qualified
