POSITION OVERVIEW

The Drilling Team Lead reports directly to the Well Engineering Manager and is accountable for delivering efficient execution across EnQuest Well Activities.

The Drilling Team Lead will have the competence and experience to stand in for both the Well Engineering Manager and Drilling Superintendents if needed. There is an expectation for the Drilling Team Lead to make offshore trips as required to familiarise themselves with the various rigs and build relationships with the offshore teams.

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Critically review and amend the Well Delivery Process in conjunction with the Well Engineering Manager and Well Decommissioning Engineering Manager to maximise productivity and minimise waste work generated by the Wells organisation.
- Ensure the Well Delivery Process is used consistently for appropriate well activities, and that Gate meetings are scheduled at the right times.
- Ensure competency profiles are created and reviewed for all engineering personnel in the reporting line, in accordance with the Wells Competency Management System.
- Ensure Well Management Standards are reviewed and amended in accordance with EnQuest requirements.
- Identify and implement appropriate methodologies for improving workflow efficiency within the Wells Organisation (e.g. Value Stream Mapping / Kanban) both on and offshore.
- Ensure accurate time and cost estimates are prepared at each stage of the Well Delivery Process for budget and AFE purposes.
- Review and technical approval of Drilling Programmes and HSE notifications, working closely with Drilling Superintendents to ensure that operations are properly planned and executed in compliance with EnQuest operational programmes and Well Management Standards.
- Provide support to the Well Engineering Manager as required in connection with Non -Operated Activities.
- Liaise with the Well Engineering Manager / Chief Drilling Engineer during operations.
- Ensure lessons learned from operations are incorporated into planning of future well activities.
- Ensure compliance with Management of Change procedures.
- Ensure all regulatory approvals are in place sufficiently in advance of operations (eg WONS).
- Work with Project Manager / Subsurface to maintain timely reporting to partners.

SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS
- Extensive drilling engineering experience, both in terms of well planning and operations across subsea and platform activities.
- Strives for continuous improvement; brings solutions and constantly seeks new and better ways to work.
- A motivated self-starter, proactive, flexible and able to respond positively to challenge and ad-hoc requests.
- Ability to provide functional leadership to the drilling team, but equally work on own initiative with minimum supervision.
- Good verbal and written communication and presentation skills.
- Strong organisational, analytical, and planning skills.
- A BSc/Eng with demonstrable competence in well planning and operations.
- Familiar with probabilistic cost estimating.
- Familiar with Landmark well planning software.
- Level 4 Subsea IWCF Certificate in Well Control.
- Current offshore survival, medical and MIST certification.
- Willingness for additional training in Lean / Lean Six Sigma, Root Cause Analysis and or Project Management.
