Job Title: School Medical Welfare Officer

Overview: The School Medical Welfare Officer is responsible for supporting the physical and mental well-being of students within the school environment. They provide crucial assistance, guidance, and coordination of medical and welfare services to ensure the overall health and welfare of students.

Key Responsibilities:
Student Health Support: Assessing and addressing the health needs of students, providing first aid, and managing medical emergencies that may arise during school hours.

Health Education: Conducting health education sessions and workshops for students, staff, and parents on topics such as hygiene, nutrition, mental health, and general well-being.

Coordination with Healthcare Providers: Liaising with healthcare professionals, arranging medical appointments for students, and maintaining records of students' medical histories and treatments.

Individual Support Plans: Collaborating with teachers, counselors, and parents to develop and implement individualized support plans for students with specific health needs or disabilities.

Welfare Support: Providing emotional support and guidance to students facing personal or family-related challenges, and referring them to appropriate support services or counselors.

Policy Compliance: Ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations, school policies, and relevant laws concerning student welfare and health.

Qualifications and Skills:
Education: Bachelor’s degree in nursing, social work, psychology, or a related field. Additional certifications in first aid, counseling, or healthcare management are advantageous.

Experience: Prior experience in healthcare, counseling, or working with children and adolescents in an educational setting is preferred.

Communication Skills: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to interact effectively with students, parents, staff, and healthcare professionals.

Compassion and Empathy: Demonstrated ability to show empathy, understanding, and support to students facing physical or emotional challenges.

Organizational Skills: Strong organizational abilities to manage medical records, appointments, and coordinate health-related activities efficiently.

Problem-Solving: Ability to assess situations, make sound judgments, and respond appropriately in medical or welfare-related emergencies.

This role requires a compassionate and dedicated individual capable of fostering a safe and healthy environment for students, ensuring their well-being while supporting their educational journey.

**Salary**: £38.48-£120.00 per day
