The post holder will be based at Harplands Hospital, Stoke-on-Trent, but will be required to travel in accordance with Trust policies and service needs as part of the role. The post holder may be required to undertake any of the duties specified in the key result areas noted below. The relative priority and time allocated to each area will be determined by reference to service needs and may vary in light of prevailing service priorities and requirements. Under supervision, to assist the psychologist and senior members of the clinical team by contributing to a variety of assessment procedures (i.e., administering self-report measures, rating scales, reviews of clinical notes, direct and indirect structured observations, semi-structured interviews etc.), and supporting and undertaking brief therapeutic interventions; To assist psychologists and other senior members of the clinical team in developing training materials, conducting searches of evidence-based literature, and contributing to service initiatives under supervision; To assist in the group delivery programme and psychology teaching and training where required; To assist in the design and implementation of audit and research projects.
This will include undertaking literature searches relevant to particular projects, data collection, analysis, and entry, and preparing and presenting summaries and reports to aid service development; To undertake a variety of clinical administrative tasks, including reviewing data sources/clinical files, writing clinical notes, letters and reports, preparing session materials, and making/modifying resources etc. Person specification Qualifications Essential criteria An upper second class honours degree or higher in psychology. Eligibility for Graduate Basis for Chartered Membership (GBC) of the British Psychological Society (BPS). Desirable criteria Further post graduate training in relevant areas of professional psychology, mental health practice and/or research design and analysis.
