Acorn Recruitment is hiring an experienced General Manager based in the Kent area on behalf of their renowned Health Board Trust client.
The successful General Manager will be accountable for a range of services across the care group, working alongside the Clinical Director and Head of Nursing, ensuring high quality, flexible and responsive service delivery and to plan, develop, coordinate andevaluate the services provided.
Job Summary:

- Provide strong, visible, professional leadership and focus for the delivery of excellent care with compassion across the care group
- Ensure the operational performance of the care group services are effectively managed to meet agreed objectives and targets
- Work in close conjunction with the triumvirate to set and deliver the care group objectives, in line with Division and Corporate targets and strategies
- Manage operational actions plans to deliver income and expenditure (I&E) balance on the budget devolved within the care group
- Monitor performance against all activity targets and other service objectives
- Ensure that all national and locally agreed waiting times and bookings targets are understood and met
- Responsible for compliance with Trust complaints procedure for all complaints received within the care group, identifying, agreeing and implementing subsequent action plans
- Take responsibility for the care group compliance with Health and Safety; CQC; CNST / NHSLA standards identifying, agreeing and implementing subsequent action plans
- Take ownership of the operational delivery of cost improvement programme (CIP) work streams
- Recruit, develop and motivate staff through appraisal and performance management systems ensuring that identified development needs are linked to education plans This includes the effective use of relevant procedures (e.g. disciplinary) in appropriate circumstances
- Manage and coordinate the day to day operational flow of wards in conjunction with senior nurses and support services with the aim of ensuring every patient has a green day as part of the SAFER patient flow bundle
- Ensure strong financial service performance against plans through identification of problems at an early stage and the initiation of corrective action
- On a regular basis, critically review structures and resources to support continuous improvement of services
- Flexibly manage resources to meet the operational and workforce needs of the clinical service group
- Plan and manage the implementation of projects to modernise services and to improve facilities and working practices to meet organisational and service delivery plans
- Ensure implementation of systems, policies and procedures at local level to fulfil the requirements of the Trust's Risk Management, Quality and Governance and safety strategies
- Act as a conduit between the Clinical Director, Lead Clinicians and senior managers to ensure effective communication and understanding between these groups and across the care groupand division
- To support the management of all relevant services within budget, and to review these regularly.
Required Experience:

- Proven experience of managing a significant service budget
- Proven track record of successful and sustained management in an
- NHS Foundation Trust or similar organisation
- Successful delivery of significant organisational change
- Evidence of a track record in change management
- Experience of managing people and teams
- Experience in developing creative solutions to problems
- Experience in giving presentations to diverse audiences
- Participate in the relevant on-call rota
Working Hours and Rate of Pay:

- This role is a temporary role for an initial 12 week period with the possibility of extension.
- Full-time position (37.5 hours per week)
- £45,288-£50,418 per annum
