**Key Responsibilities**:
To support the People Services Manager in all payroll matters and provide administrative support as part of the People Services team

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Assisting in the process the monthly payroll with specific responsibility for processing all Leaver payments, Maternity pay and Attachment of Earnings Orders. Other responsibilities include processing promotions, transfers, overtime, change of hours.
- Provide Maternity leave/pay advice, administer all maternity leave, process SMP and SPP payments, maintaining the relevant databases and spread sheets
- Support the People Services Manager in answering enquiries from the Tax Office, Benefits Agency and other payroll agencies
- Maintain employee records in the HR/Payroll database
- Ensure all pay queries or enquires are responded to within 48hrs
- Assist the People Services Manager to administer the monthly payroll
- Ensure the payroll is completed to deadlines every month, ensure accuracy and attention to detail
- Undertake other People Services functions as requested, providing cover and support to other team members

**ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS**:
Demonstrable Payroll experience

Experience of working within an HR Department and understanding of core people processes

Strong Excel skills

Proficient in Word, PowerPoint, HR/Payroll systems

Ability to work to strict deadlines and under pressure whilst multi tasking

Ability to work under own initiative

Works well within a team and independently

Excellent communication skills with all levels of employees, both verbal and written

Excellent attention to detail

Friendly but efficient telephone manner

Friendly, helpful and approachable nature

Flexible and adaptable

Complete discretion
