Their residential home in Cardiff allows for a nurturing and independence building environment to support young people with their personal careplans, setting them up with key life skills to transition in young adult life with confidence. They adopt the therapeutic approach to care and alongside a supportive team of colleagues constantly review to ensure they are providing the best care possible.Be this implementing new and engaging activities for the young people you support, or by upskilling team members to be working at the best of their abilities.

Their current services support 15-19 year olds and the new service they are opening will be supporting 8-15 year olds. As a deputy you will be a key part of the transition into the new service and daily running, alongside their experienced manager.

**Your new role**
- Engage in fulfilling activities which you have assisted in the planning and implementation of
- Liaising with families and support workers to ensure the best possible independent care plans are provided and carried out
- Proactive approach to education and activity to improve key skills and self confidence.
- Ensure clear communication with individuals via a range of methods and inspire them to carry out any tasks.
- Engage in individual's transitioning periods by nurturing them to become a functioning member of wider society Nurturing and managing staff teams Collaborating with the residential manager and wider management teams to ensure the smooth running of the serviceincluding activity planning, budgeting, onboarding, supervisions etc
- To make and maintain accurate records of activities and tasks carried out, including any incidents that may occur
- Carry out / assist with general housekeeping duties
- Comply with GDPR and Health and Safety regulations Providing the young persons with lifts to and from any appointments/ days out they have planned

**What you'll need to succeed**
- Confident and patient nature
- Driving Licence - essential
- Experience within the care sector is essential
- QCF/ NVQL3 in Children and Young People or Health & Social Care is essential
- Resilience, self-motivation and the enthusiasm to engage with active young people
- Excellent communication skills
- Teamwork skills
- Ability to navigate a challenging situation
- DBS on the Update service is a bonus for swifter onboarding
