Job Description

Ready for your next career challenge?

As a team, we transform our client’s businesses using a combination of strategic thinking, customer-centric service design, and agile engineering practices. We do this at internet scale – driving innovation, and enriching people’s lives. Our skills and talent enable PA’s purpose of creating a positive human future in a technology-driven world.

As part of our Digital team, you’ll work alongside colleagues from across PA – delivering transformative digital solutions to today’s most complex business challenges. Our teams are trusted to deliver and given the space to be awesome. We’re an inclusive community for the curious, generous, pragmatic and committed digital practitioners.

Collectively the team is responsible for delivering functioning solutions to our clients, but as a QA Engineer:

  1. You'll have the support of experienced professionals within the team, who can give you guidance and help you make decisions.
  2. You are familiar with the development process, and take ownership of certain aspects of the process by putting appropriate methods and tools in place.
  3. It’s important you feel comfortable having team discussions with the client on the project and contributing your thoughts and ideas into the team.
  4. You will have responsibility for owning and delivering on specific tasks, being the design authority and accountable for creating solutions.

Qualifications

Thinking like a tester is a skill, and we rely upon your inquisitive and curious mindset.

Are you driven to implement test strategy to give a client confidence that a quality product has been delivered?

You would be part of large-scale projects where you will get to work with a robust technical automation framework using for example Cypress, Selenium or equivalent.

In addition, experience of using functional testing techniques, performing accessibility testing, and using non-functional testing tools is an asset.

The ideal candidate will be shaping the quality of the project by improving test strategy, design and implementation while also acting as a role model for junior QA engineers.

Some of the skills and attributes that we believe make a good QA Engineer:

  1. A QA mindset.
  2. Test strategy and test planning experience.
  3. Being a valued member of the team – you will be embedded into sprint teams, work closely with developers and we expect you to take responsibility for the quality of the sprints delivered.
  4. Experience of working with test management and defect tracking tools.
  5. Understanding of CI/CD tools.
  6. Working against a branching strategy git, svn or cvs.
  7. Understanding of OOP.
  8. Implementing and using automation frameworks and approaches like Selenium, TestNG, Visual Studio CodedUI, BDD tools such as Cucumber, or SpecFlow, integration between testing framework and CI/CD tools.
