Grade UE05: £29,179 to £33,482 per annum, pro-rata

EFI/Centre for Technomoral Futures

Part-time: 5 hours per week

Fixed-term: 12 months

The Opportunity:

This internship is only open to current University of Edinburgh PhD students who will be based in the UK for the duration of the internship. Employ.ed for PhDs is run by the Careers Service in collaboration with university departments and Schools. It offers exclusive part-time internships at the University all year round.

We are looking for a skilled researcher and writer in the field of applied AI and Data Ethics, to support the University of Edinburgh's AI and Data Ethics Advisory Board and facilitate the activities of its review subcommittee.

Your skills and attributes for success:

  • Current University of Edinburgh PhD student.
  • Working knowledge of principles and best practices in academic research ethics.
  • Ability to apply reasoning in evaluating research ethics pertaining to AI and data.
  • Research experience in the field of applied AI ethics and/or applied data ethics.
  • Strong interdisciplinary communication skills, adept at engaging with academics and the broader university community.
  • Ability to write concise, clear summaries of complex ethical issues pertaining to academic research, synthesizing multiple and diverse perspectives.
