Civil Project EngineerRole Overview

The Project Engineer (Civils) is a critical role in supporting the delivery of civil engineering aspects of multi-disciplinary construction and renewable energy projects. Reporting directly to the Project Manager, this role ensures the planning, design, and execution of civil engineering works meet the highest standards of safety, quality, and efficiency. The successful candidate will collaborate with design teams, contractors, and project stakeholders to deliver civil engineering solutions that align with project specifications, budgets, and timelines.

Duties and Responsibilities
  1. Technical Leadership

    • Provide technical expertise and guidance on all civil engineering aspects of assigned projects.

    • Review and interpret design drawings, specifications, and technical documents to ensure alignment with project requirements.

    • Collaborate with design teams to develop innovative and cost-effective engineering solutions.
  2. Project Planning and Coordination

    • Support the Project Manager in planning and scheduling civil engineering works.

    • Coordinate with contractors, suppliers, and other stakeholders to ensure the timely and efficient delivery of works.

    • Monitor progress against project schedules and identify potential delays or risks.
  3. Site Supervision and Quality Control

    • Oversee on-site civil engineering works to ensure compliance with design specifications, standards, and regulations.

    • Conduct regular site inspections and audits to maintain quality and adherence to project plans.

    • Address technical issues that arise on-site, providing solutions to maintain project momentum.
  4. Documentation and Reporting

    • Maintain accurate records of civil engineering works, including daily logs, progress reports, and test results.

    • Prepare technical reports and updates for the Project Manager and other stakeholders.

    • Ensure all documentation meets contractual, regulatory, and company standards.
  5. Stakeholder Engagement

    • Liaise with clients, consultants, and regulatory bodies on civil engineering matters.

    • Represent the company at project meetings, providing updates on civil engineering progress and challenges.

    • Build and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders to support project success.
  6. Value Engineering and Innovation

    • Identify opportunities for value engineering to optimize project efficiency and cost-effectiveness.

    • Stay up-to-date with the latest civil engineering technologies and practices to drive innovation in project delivery.
Skills and Experience

Education:

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.

• Professional accreditation (e.g., ICE membership, CEng status) is highly desirable.

Experience:

• Proven experience in civil engineering roles within the construction or renewable energy sectors.

• Strong track record of delivering civil engineering works on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.

• Experience with site supervision and managing contractors is preferred.

Skills:

• Strong technical knowledge of civil engineering principles, standards, and regulations.

• Excellent organisational and time-management skills.

• Effective communication and stakeholder engagement abilities.

• Proficiency in civil engineering software (e.g., AutoCAD, Civil 3D) and project management tools.

• Analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
