General Summary:

About the role

Customer facing hands on engineering role in a world leading fabless Semiconductor company developing high end multicore personal audio SoCs.

Work on challenging projects within a highly motivated, diverse and skilled team of Embedded Systems Engineers delivering world class support on our industry leading Bluetooth personal audio SoCs.

Engage directly with global Tier 1 customers and Qualcomm regional customer Engineers to accelerate customer project development through to commercial launch and beyond. Work at the cutting edge of personal audio development blending your hardware skills and embedded software abilities to ensure that customers' technical requirements are fulfilled, and their problems resolved.

Become a key contributing member of an R&D team shaping the future of personal audio. The role proactively enhances the customer experience by contributing to the continual improvement of Qualcomm's SoCs, Application Development Kits (ADKs), customer facing tools and associated content.

What we would like to see
  1. Engineering degree or equivalent qualification, preferably within a hardware domain
  2. Demonstrable hardware domain expertise
  3. Relevant technical experience in a customer facing, problem solving based role
  4. Competent in embedded C programming
  5. Experience with embedded systems debugging hardware and software using PC software tools and ancillary instrumentation
  6. Ability to rapidly learn new skills as required by assigned tasks
Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical/Electronics Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field.

What would make you stand out
  1. Demonstrable understanding of RF, circuit, component, electrical and electronic theories
  2. Solid comprehension of hardware specifications, component selection methodology, system architecture implementations, RF regulatory certification and standards qualification
  3. Good understanding of coding practices, software architecture principles, source code control and configuration management
  4. Experience in a common scripting language (e.g. Python)
  5. Demonstrable ability to understand issues from system level down to detailed hardware and software components
  6. Exhibits a "can-do" attitude; Takes ownership of problems, works across multi-disciplined teams and drives fixes to conclusion
  7. Diagnostic and analytical skills with a limited amount of technical information
  8. Ability to think outside the box and devise creative workarounds in high pressure situations
  9. Makes technical, program and customer related decisions with little supervision where no obvious process is available
  10. Dynamic and outgoing personality with proven customer facing skills and solid business acumen
  11. Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills
  12. Hands-on experience of enterprise CRM systems (such as Salesforce)
Some of the things you may be involved with
  1. Own first tier customer support and initial debugging for issues raised by customers in the European region
  2. Manage and resolve customer support requests
  3. Perform offline debugging of customer issues
  4. Take the lead on holding technical calls and live debug sessions with customers
  5. Develop tools, sample code and example applications for customers
  6. Host technical workshops for customers at Qualcomm sites
  7. Deliver real-time technical training to customers
  8. Perform offline reviews of customer designs
  9. Champion the customer in key internal meetings
  10. Foster strong relationships with and deliver technical support to Customer Engineering teams
  11. Contribute to and deliver new feature training to Customer Engineering teams
  12. Work closely with development team colleagues to drive key product issues through to resolution
  13. Be an early adopter of Engineering and Commercial software releases
  14. Proactively contribute to deliverable product content
  15. Develop and deliver product demos
  16. Support Marketing and Sales colleagues on key customer engagements
  17. Develop at least one Product or Technology specialty with hardware domain focus
  18. Proactively contribute to continuing professional development of the team
  19. Stay up to date on relevant industry specifications
  20. Report weekly on operational topics, product issues, customer projects and customer experience feedback
