A role you will love
As one of our IT Business Analysts, you will work within the technology department as part of a product-focused, cross-functional delivery team where you will build trusted relationships with the wider department to bridge the gap between technology and the business.

In this role, you will be instrumental in creating and delivering high-quality communications, presentations, and visualisations, while also representing your delivery team within the broader project and department. Engaging with stakeholders will be crucial, as you will collaborate with both technical and non-technical audiences to share knowledge, convey complex ideas, provide updates, and effectively influence and challenge when needed.

Other key responsibilities:
  1. Use a range of analysis techniques to lead and facilitate structured workshops with stakeholders and end users to identify and prioritise requirements.
  2. Use agile practices to stay responsive to business needs and look at innovative ways to solve problems and to shape the delivery.
  3. Write high-quality, clear User Stories and Acceptance Criteria to form a well organised Product Backlog that is prioritised according to business objectives, from which the development team can estimate/size, plan and deliver changes.
  4. Proactively contribute to the Business Analyst community – contribute ideas, embrace change, share knowledge, and collaborate with a network of stakeholders.
  5. Make and honour commitments as part of a cross-functional team - request help when needed and ask teammates what you can do to help them.
  6. Support in strategic initiatives of IT Business analysts' group and supporting more junior BAs.
  7. Contribute to Service Transition, assisting with a reasonable level of 2nd line support when necessary.
What will you bring to the role?
As this position sits within a technical function, you will need to have experience working in cross-functional technology & development teams, with the ability to build effective relationships with stakeholders, who are both technical and non-technical.

You will be a collaborative person who enjoys working as part of a team and is able to discuss challenges in a way that helps others to see them, understand them and work through them. Of course, this is an IT Business Analyst role at its core, so the ability to gather requirements and analyse complex data will be what you enjoy.

Some other key skills that you'll have:
  1. Experience working in a similar team as an IT Business Analyst or similar within a complex environment (such as financial services).
  2. The ability to draw information out of the system using SQL queries to come up with analytical conclusions.
  3. Working knowledge of Agile software development.
  4. Collaborates and communicates well, builds great working relationships, influences others, challenges effectively and responds well to challenge from others, shares information and ideas with others, has good listening skills.
  5. The ability to deal with conflicting priorities within a high demand environment.
  6. Exposure to Financial systems, Share plans administration business or our platform EquatePlus.
  7. A formal qualification within IT Business Analysis, or similar (technical degree) would be advantageous.
