Medlock Partners have recently been engaged by our client, a rapidly expanding UK Manufacturing organisation as they look to appoint an ambitious qualified Financial Planning Analyst/Finance Business Partner in a newly created role.
Our client boasts a reputation of "experts in their field" and provide a unique, high quality product that has recently resulted in a huge contract win that will have a significant impact on the growth and success of the business.
Reporting into the Financial Controller, the Financial Planning Analyst / Finance Business Partner will have responsibility for developing robust financial processes and reporting systems. Your analytical & modelling skills will be essential in transforming data and assumptions into actionable business plans and scenarios that influence our decision-making and drive growth.
You will collaborate (Business Partner) closely with various departments to ensure alignment with strategic objectives and provide financial insights that support business operations.
Responsibilities:
- Assist in the development of the annual budget and routine forecasting.
- Collaborate with various departments to gather financial data and assumptions.
- Understand process and cost improvements and implement changes to the forecasting software, validating outputs.
- Perform in-depth financial analysis, including variance analysis of actual vs. budgeted results each month.
- Identify key financial drivers and trends to support tactical and strategic decision-making.
- Generate ad-hoc financial reports and presentations for senior management.
- Develop and improve the modelling/budgeting software currently in use.
- Create and maintain financial models to support long-term financial planning and scenario analysis.
- Conduct sensitivity analysis to assess the impact of various business decisions on financial outcomes.
- Develop a deep understanding of how the business operates and how financial and operational decisions impact performance.
- Make recommendations based on financial data and analysis.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive data-driven decision-making.
- Perform detailed analyses of actual financial results against budget and forecast.
- Contribute to month-end closing activities, including journal entries and reconciliations.
- Assist in the preparation of financial reports, statements, and documentation for internal and external stakeholders.
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulatory requirements.
Requirements:
- Previous experience in a similar Financial Analyst/Finance Business Partnering role.
- Positive and proactive personality with the ability to effectively communicate with stakeholders.
- Fully qualified accountant (ACCA/CIMA/ACA) or Finalist.
- Ability to present complex financials in a clear, concise, and persuasive manner.
- Proven experience in financial analysis, budgeting, and forecasting.
- Proactive, effective communicator, influencer of change, strong problem solver, and excellent organisational skills.
- Motivated self-starter with the desire to progress alongside an ambitious company.
The successful candidate will have a high level of attention to detail, a proactive attitude, and the ability to build effective relationships with stakeholders to deliver tasks on time. You will align with the business' core values and initiatives and be provided with a platform to flourish as a commercial finance professional.
