The Construction Project Manager job role itself where you will join the Major Projects Division, where we undertake some of the most prestigious and ambitious projects, valued up to GBP80m and include exceptional ventures such as sporting estates, Grade I and II Listed properties, extensive period refurbishments and magnificent manor houses. The scale and complexity of these projects demand expert management and craftsmanship, making this division an exciting place to advance your career. More specifically:

  • You will work closely with your Project Director and Project Quantity Surveyor to engage at the earliest opportunity and work proactively on an ongoing basis with suitable supply chain to ensure contractual, operational and commercial expectations and obligations are met and their performance meets the needs and demands of the project.
  • You will produce a programme to support your plan based on the PSM's project programme using programming software to compile this and as a tool to show progress, record delays and variations.
  • You will plan for numerous, complex tasks in an integrated manner that illustrates how they are interlinked and interdependent.
  • Undertake extensive and detailed programming of the project, using Power Project software, to continually manage, review and update. (Programming skills and capabilities will extend to any of the industry recognised Construction programme types noted below, with the capability of baseline reporting, critical path analysis, delay analysis including cause and effect; Contract, Construction, Target, Design, Short Term, Completion).
  • You will manage an internal project team, typically less than 5 people with 2–3 direct reports, where you can evidence collaborative and effective people management and leadership skills.

You will have

To be successful as Construction Project Manager, you will have previous experience managing projects with a value typically in excess of GBP10m–GBP15m, involving challenging contractual, operational and commercial activities, plus a healthy mix of the following:

  • HNC in Construction or relevant Degree level qualification
  • Detailed knowledge of private residential building contracting.
  • Good technical understanding of traditional and modern building methods and products associated with refurbishment and new build projects of both traditional and contemporary design in the prime and super prime residential sector.
  • Good working knowledge of MS Office, Intermediate level of Excel
