Solicitor - Property Litigation (3-5 PQE)

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Property Litigation Solicitor to join our market leading and well respected Property Litigation Team at JMW.

JMW is an award winning, top 100, full-service law firm with offices in Manchester, London and Liverpool. The Manchester Litigation Team is one of the largest in the North West and ranked in the Legal 500 and Chambers and Partners. The Property Litigation Team in particular has a significant amount of high profile work for household names. The firm is recognised for its collegiate culture and transparent career progression framework.

We are looking for a skilled and experienced Property Litigation Solicitor with c.3-5 years PQE to join our dynamic legal team. The successful candidate will handle a diverse caseload of property disputes, providing expert legal advice and representation to clients.

The role will involve managing an agreed caseload under supervision and supporting partners on larger disputes. The successful candidate will have a client facing role and will be encouraged to develop their professional skills and own business development strategies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Independently manage a varied caseload of property litigation matters, including landlord and tenant disputes, boundary disputes, lease renewals, and property damage claims.
  • Provide legal advice and support to clients, ensuring the highest standards of client care.
  • Assist partners and senior solicitors on high value/complex disputes.
  • Draft and review legal documents, including pleadings, witness statements, and settlement agreements.
  • Represent clients in court, tribunals, and mediation.
  • Conduct legal research and stay updated on relevant property law developments.
  • Collaborate with other departments to provide comprehensive legal solutions.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date case files and records.
  • Manage compliance and cashflow on files.
  • Develop and assist with the implementation of business development strategies to expand the firm's client base.

Knowledge, skills and experience required:

  • Qualified solicitor with 3-5 years PQE in property litigation.
  • Strong knowledge of property law and litigation procedures.
  • Excellent analytical, negotiation, and advocacy skills.
  • Ability to manage a busy caseload and work to deadlines.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in legal research and use of legal databases.
  • Strong attention to detail and organisational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
