The Treasury Risk Solutions (TRS) team provides treasury management services and solutions to companies, including foreign exchange, commodities and rates hedging, and cash flow management solutions. As an embedded Analyst within TRS, you will deliver technical and analytical expertise to support a data-driven culture within TRS and the Specialist Bank. Your key responsibility will be to build processes that extract, manipulate, and visualise data, enabling the business to make informed, data-driven decisions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver data analysis to business stakeholders, enabling data-driven decision-making and keeping them informed about business insights and performance.
  • Create interactive data visualisations using Power BI, collaborating with business teams to formulate KPIs and appropriate measures.
  • Migrate existing analytics processes to Power BI and the Microsoft Azure platform, where possible.
  • Develop a deep understanding of each business area to assist with day-to-day procedures, provide revenue generation insights, conduct cost reduction analysis, and enhance efficiency.
  • Engage with revenue-generating and business-enabling teams to understand their reporting and analytics requirements, converting these into actionable outputs.
  • Manage stakeholder expectations through clear and frequent communication, ensuring outputs are fit for purpose.
  • Document all processes and outputs created, actively monitor data and reporting processes, and investigate appropriate fixes in the event of process failures.
  • Collaborate with the Platform and Data Engineering Team to source all data from the "One Data Platform" (ODP), identifying any sources not currently included and working with engineering to integrate them.

Core Skills and Knowledge:

  • Career Background: Do you have entrenched experience within the data and analytics function or industry? Do you have a proven track record of delivering data-driven business analysis? Can you share examples of how you have delivered impactful data-driven business analysis?
  • Technical Skills: Are you proficient in SQL and other languages needed to extract data? How skilled are you in data visualisation tools, especially Power BI? What experience do you have with Microsoft Azure Cloud-based tools such as Data Bricks, Data Factory, Synapse Analytics, and Analysis Services? Have you utilised Python in your previous roles?
  • Educational Background: Do you hold a Bachelor's degree (or higher) in a numerical, computer science, or financial discipline?
  • Analytical Skills: How do you interpret complex information to spot trends and 'tell a story' back to the business? Can you provide examples of how you distil stakeholder requirements into succinct questions and deliver timely, actionable insights?
  • Communication Skills: How do you adapt your communication style to engage effectively with different audiences? Can you describe a situation where your influencing skills made a significant impact?
  • Project Management: Are you able to self-manage research, design, prioritise, implement, and deliver projects efficiently? How do you ensure that your projects are completed on time?
  • Personal Attributes: Are you willing to learn new tools and skills quickly? What motivates your commitment to follow projects through to completion, and how do you maintain attention to detail in your work?

As part of our collaborative & agile culture, our working week is 4 days in the office and one day remote.
