Are you passionate about animal welfare and ensuring the highest standards in food production? We're looking for a Technical Specialist to lead our Chippindales farm audit team and play a vital role in maintaining the integrity of our supply chain.
In this role, you'll be responsible for ensuring that all laying hen facilities meet regulatory, industry, and customer standards. You'll conduct thorough audits, oversee compliance processes, and provide expert technical guidance to egg producers—ensuring best practices in welfare, sustainability, and quality assurance to protect our brand and reputation.
Key Responsibilities:- Lead and manage the farm audit team, responsible for carrying out bird welfare inspections and assessing farm compliance in line with Lion Code, RSPCA, and Customer quality standards.
- Plan and execute audit schedules ensuring timely and comprehensive audits of all farms and escalate risks to the business to determine the best course of action.
- Provide technical advice and support to egg producers, helping them improve flock health, egg quality and farm performance.
- Provide training, guidance and support to team members ensuring they are well equipped to assess compliance effectively.
- Maintain up to date documentation of all audits and produce regular compliance performance reports, highlighting areas of success and opportunities for improvement.
- Maintain Eggbase databases and flock predictions to support efficient supply chain planning.
- Support and train new poultry producers on industry standards, compliance and best practices.
- Work cross-functionally with key stakeholders, including operations, transport, and technical teams to drive improvements and reduce risk.
- Represent Chippindale Foods at industry events and meetings.
- Knowledge of the poultry industry, bird welfare, health and safety, and biosecurity practices.
- Strong commercial awareness and ability to work with suppliers to improve standards.
- Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) with a keen eye for detail.
- Ability to work independently and problem-solve under pressure.
- Strong IT and data management skills (e.g., using Eggbase).
- A full UK driving licence (essential for field-based travel).
- Previous experience in commercial egg production or poultry farming.
In return for your hard work we will offer you:
- Six weeks holiday (including bank holidays).
- 15% discount in our stores available from the day you join us.
- Additional 10% discount More Card for a friend or family member.
- Career progression and development opportunities.
- Subsidised staff canteen.
- Free parking.
- Market leading pension and life assurance.
- Healthcare/Well-being benefits including Aviva Digital GP.
- Morrisons MyPerks with discounts at high street shops, cinemas and gyms, and lots more.
- Long Service Awards.
- Optional Payroll charity donations.
- Enhanced Family/maternity/parental leave.
You'll find a great big welcome here at Myton Food Group - the part of our business that looks after manufacturing, whilst maintaining strong roots within Morrisons Supermarkets.
At Myton Food Group, we have a legacy to be proud of. We're British farming's biggest single direct customer. We buy from highly valued suppliers. And we're passionate about the quality of our food. Today, we have 19 manufacturing sites across the UK, where we pack and process fresh meats and fish, savoury and sweet pies, fruit and veg, flower bouquets, bread and lots more.
We really do stand out in the world of food manufacturing. But what we're especially proud of is the way we all get stuck in and work as a team, in partnership across our supply chain.
