Job Role: Building Safety Operations Manager

Location: Remote, monthly travel to one of our offices - Luton, New Milton, Worcester or Torquay

Hours: 35 hours per week, Monday – Friday

Main Purpose of Job

To lead a team to deliver the effective management of the building safety management programme for all qualifying buildings (currently 18m+). To provide the client with a professional and effective service, managing the compliance and maintenance of key documents that make up the overall safety of the buildings. The scope of this role will evolve and develop over time with the appointment of a new Government and changing legislation.

Main Responsibilities

  1. Manage a team to implement and deliver a high-rise management programme for over 18m buildings, including maintenance of building safety cases, resident engagement strategies, EWS1 Certificates and all associated reports and assessments.
  2. Effectively manage a team to deliver 100% compliance and exemplary service to clients.
  3. Lead and manage a team, ensuring 1:1's are completed, performance is supported and managed, feedback given and any other people processes managed.
  4. Ownership over the overall progress across the portfolio, highlighting and managing any risk areas.
  5. Meet all KPIs and SLAs agreed with key clients on timescales and service delivery.
  6. Review completed documents and challenge where appropriate.
  7. Effective management of procurement and supply chain.
  8. Effective financial planning and management of all projects.
  9. Managing the P&L of the department ensuring delivery of budget and revenue targets are met.
  10. Manage relationships with all major clients, ensuring regular and accurate reporting.
  11. Supporting the growth objective of Innovus through identifying new revenue opportunities, leads and new clients.
  12. Staying up to date with the changes in legislation and anything that may impact Building Safety.
  13. Any other activity that the client may deem necessary in order to ensure compliance with Building Safety Act 2022.

Key Interfaces

  1. Working closely with the Building Remediation Team and Finance Team in Innovus.
  2. Building Safety Team in FirstPort.
  3. FirstPort, RMC Clients, Large PLC Developers, Landlord Clients.
  4. Contractors and Suppliers.

Experience

  1. Detailed knowledge and understanding of the Building Safety Act and secondary legislation, including obligations of the Principal Accountable Person.
  2. Property Management experience – understand lease structures and client relationships.
  3. Project Management.

Technical Skills (If appropriate)

  1. Project and finance management skills are essential.
  2. Presentation and communication skills.
  3. Commercial awareness and the ability to manage a P&L.
