The Company and Role
My client is looking for a proactive, highly organised, and hands-on Manufacturing Project Manager to oversee the delivery of machine projects from conception to completion.
This is an exciting opportunity for a driven professional with a strong background in both project management and engineering within machine building. A solid understanding of commercial project management principles, combined with mechanical engineering expertise, is essential.
The ideal candidate will be an excellent communicator, capable of managing and coordinating complex projects with multiple stakeholders and work packages while also taking a hands-on approach when working with Engineering and Production teams.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Lead the successful delivery of complex machine build projects, working collaboratively across multi-disciplinary teams.
  2. Manage all project phases, from sales handover through to machine completion and installation.
  3. Ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards, meeting client expectations.
  4. Provide regular updates to project stakeholders, delivering detailed reports as needed.
  5. Develop strong relationships with clients and internal/external project teams to ensure seamless coordination.
  6. Oversee project team outputs, ensuring timely and high-quality deliverables.
  7. Work closely with the production team, providing hands-on support during machine builds where required.
  8. Collate, distribute, and manage all project documentation.
  9. Ensure all CE documentation is completed, alongside other regulatory requirements such as UL and UKCA.
  10. Collaborate with the QHSE Manager to conduct thorough risk assessments for each project.
  11. Oversee the collation and management of customer documentation packages.
  12. Maintain accurate job logs and records within Epicor.
  13. Manage risk and issue logs effectively.
  14. Assist departmental managers with resource planning and allocation.
  15. Create and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and process documents for role-related tasks.
  16. Travel internationally as required for project delivery.
The Candidate
  1. Experience in commercial project management within an engineering environment.
  2. Hands-on engineering or technical experience in machine building.
  3. Proficiency in CAD systems (preferably AutoCAD, Inventor, and Vault).
  4. Strong knowledge of project management tools and methodologies.
  5. Competent in Microsoft Office applications.
  6. Experience working with ERP/MRP systems (Epicor preferred).
  7. Project management qualification such as PRINCE2 is desirable.
  8. Engineering qualification preferred.
