IT Systems & Support Engineer II

Here at Evotec we are currently recruiting for an experienced IT Systems & Support Engineer, assisting our Lab & Systems Supervisor in providing IT support & operational services.

Role: IT Systems & Support Engineer II

Role Type: Permanent

Hours: Full time, 40 hours per week, Monday - Friday

Principle Responsibilities

  • In depth investigation of advanced technical problems with IT Lab hardware and software.
  • Deployment of software to IT Lab hardware.
  • Complete understanding of and administering the backup and restore processes for IT Lab hardware and software.
  • Collaborating with external Engineers visiting the site (e.g. providing them technical assistance, site inductions, etc).
  • In depth knowledge of administering Active Directory for IT Lab hardware, software and users.
  • In depth knowledge of Entra ID for IT Lab hardware, software and users.
  • Understanding and adhering to the relevant aspects of Company and the Lab procedures (e.g. SOX Controls, Health and Safety policy, GxP, ISO27001).
  • Working with Lab managers across the departments on site.
  • In depth knowledge of Anti-Virus administration for IT Lab hardware and software.

General Responsibilities:

  • Assisting the Lab & Systems Supervisor in providing support and operational services.
  • Day-to-day management of the service desk, including the triage of help desk tickets as they pertain to Lab requests or incidents.
  • 2nd line investigation of assigned help desk tickets as they pertain to Lab requests or incidents.
  • Working independently on projects assigned by the Lab & Systems Supervisor or Team Leader.
  • Working collaboratively with other Evotec teams to investigate issues with IT Lab hardware and software (e.g. Cyber Security, Local/Global Service Desk, System Admins).
  • Writing and maintaining documentation for all IT Lab hardware and software.
  • Keeping records of previous issues, along with the solutions, to create a knowledge base.
  • Performing regular, required operational checks and where necessary documenting the checks made.
  • Perform regular audits of Lab IT hardware and software to ensure that the Labs can continue to run efficiently and continuously.
  • Completing training modules assigned by the Lab & Systems Supervisor and discussing further training options to increase personal knowledge base.
  • Expected to follow processes and procedures in the form of Technical How To documents.
  • Strict adherence to the Company's IT Security policies and procedures.
  • To undertake the duties outlined above and other duties as directed by Lab & Systems Supervisor and from time to time carry out any additional tasks as may be required to support the business.

Experience:

  • Practical working knowledge of software, hardware, and mobile devices.
  • Experience working with Windows OS.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Providing step-by-step technical help, both written and verbal.
  • Demonstrable experience working in corporate / laboratory environment.
