Senior Accountant Job Overview
  1. Accounts preparation from both incomplete records and computerised records, including statutory, year-end accounts, and management accounts.
  2. Company and personal tax return preparation (personal tax experience not essential).
  3. Managing a portfolio of clients, liaising with them on all accounting matters, and maintaining excellent relationships.
  4. VAT returns/Bookkeeping assistance where required during busy periods.
  5. Other ad-hoc projects as they arise.
Senior Accountant Job Requirements
  1. ACA or ACCA qualified. Will consider QBE but must have a minimum of 3 years practice experience.
  2. A minimum of 3 years recent experience within a UK based, qualified firm of accountants is desirable.
  3. Management accounts experience desirable.
  4. Excellent working knowledge of accounts preparation for a range of businesses including Sole Traders, Ltd Companies, and Partnerships, including LLPs.
  5. Ability to prepare accounts to a high standard.
  6. Ability to use own initiative, to work under pressure and to deadlines.
  7. Excellent communication and organisational skills.
  8. Excellent attention to detail.
  9. A good working knowledge of accounting software, preferably CCH, Sage, and Xero.
  10. A good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word is essential.
Senior Accountant Salary & Benefits
  1. Competitive salary range, £35,000-£45,000 but can be negotiable on experience.
  2. 23 days holiday plus statutory bank holidays.
