Job Description
  1. Responsible for pulling together financial data and analysis to support the bid process for UK MOD and International Military Aircraft contracts, and to provide advice and support to the ongoing delivery against secured contracts in relation to the financial assumptions, baseline data and projections that have been produced.
  2. The post holder will be required to translate customer bid requirements to be understood within the business (e.g. collecting the financial assumptions behind the bid). Ensuring bid scope is costed in accordance with instructions provided by the UK MOD and International Business Units.
  3. Consolidate bids and cost data from across company locations (UK, Italy and other sites) and external partners as necessary.
  4. Put together the bid from the financial information perspective.
  5. Establish and predict the cash contract value.
  6. Analyse and predict the cash accrual on an annual basis - to be used as sales value.
  7. Provide cost/sales value projection year on year.
  8. Critically review proposals to ensure costs are complete.
  9. Manage the risk from a financial perspective of the data that is being used to support bid submissions for new contracts.
  10. Support the UK and International business units through negotiations as required.
  11. Complete financial analysis for contract flow down between legal entities and departments (compile Cost to Price Make Up).
  12. The ability to carry out this role will be dependent on having a depth of understanding of aircraft cost behaviour, in particular the Procurement and Supply Chain process and supplier cost behaviour and the ability to work within a complex, multinational, multi functional engineering/manufacturing industry.
  13. All of this activity required to be backed off with functional areas (engineering, procurement, programmes, manufacturing, etc...) prior to use for bid submission and the establishment of Commercial proposals.
  14. This post is required to deliver a service to strict and demanding deadlines in order to assist bid submissions.
  15. You are responsible for taking reasonable care of your own health and safety and that of others who may be affected by your acts or omissions at work and to co-operate with managers, supervisors and others to enable the company to meet its statutory obligations for health, safety and environment.
  16. Specific responsibilities for Employees are detailed within HSP 1015 - Workers Responsibilities.
  17. Provision of ad hoc financial analysis in support of Product, Capital & Site Investment in the UK.
Requirements
  1. Previous experience in bid finance or pricing would be advantageous but not essential.
  2. The ability to liaise with senior project managers, commercial, engineering, manufacturing and supplier organisations as necessary.
  3. Ability to deal with complex financial modelling in a time pressured environment. Ability to manage or mitigate the potential risks & opportunities to achieve business success.
  4. Team player, who can work effectively as part of an across functs.
  5. Strong communication skills with ability to interact at all levels within the Company. Able to represent the company through engagement with customers and partners within the financial framework.
  6. Ability to understand supporting systems & processes and be able to generate continuous improvement in process under their control.
  7. Good Excel skills is essential.
