Position Overview

In this role, you will work with our multi-disciplinary design and engineering teams to lead and manage the development of medical and consumer goods devices, from concept through to production. This is a key position of responsibility and your success in this role will be central to the success of the company. We need an innovative, experienced and delivery focused individual with the drive and enthusiasm to push forward relentlessly in a fast paced and supportive team environment.

Crux - Project Management

Principal Responsibilities

  • Managing multiple design and development projects, ranging from initial concept, product definition, design & development, and transfer to manufacture
  • Leading and working with the project teams to solve challenging design, mechanical engineering, electronics, and software challenges
  • Providing programme management activities for large client accounts and client partnerships
  • Line management of other members of the Project Management team to ensure successful delivery of their projects under these client projects and partnerships
  • Ensuring goals are met in areas including customer satisfaction, safety, quality and team member performance
  • Managing project timelines, budgets and risks
  • Managing, allocating and approving resource for projects, and managing interdependences between projects
  • Managing relationships with our clients, building trust and collaboration
  • Capturing business opportunities from ongoing client project activities
  • Creating and reviewing project proposals/quotations including defining project schedules and budgets
  • Producing accurate and timely reporting of program status to clients and internal stakeholders

What We're Looking For

Essential

  • A 1st or 2:1 degree in an engineering or other relevant discipline
  • A minimum of 5 years project management experience, managing medical device design and development projects
  • Experience working to ISO 13485 and ISO 14971, or to the equivalent regulations and requirements of the FDA
  • A project management track-record gained within a highly technical and team-oriented environment
  • Strong organisational and time management skills with experience of formal project reporting
  • Ability to clearly communicate ideas and work flexibly within a dynamic, multidisciplinary team
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with an articulate and diplomatic manner
  • Experience of planning multiple parallel tasks and defining project scope, goals and deliverables
  • Ability to track project progress and deliver projects on-time and to budget
  • Ability to address issues as they arise, and both make and drive decisions
  • Excellent presentation and interpersonal communication skills
  • Strong stakeholder management experience across all levels of seniority
  • Line management experience

Desirable

  • Experience working within a consulting environment
  • An industry recognised Project Management qualification or certification
