JOB TITLE: Manager - Operational Risk Analytics and Insurable Risks, CCOR

LOCATION(S): Edinburgh, Birmingham, Bristol, Cardiff, Halifax or Leeds

SALARY: £65,386 - £72,650

HOURS: Full time

WORKING PATTERN: Hybrid, 40% (or two days) in one of the above offices

About this opportunity

We're on an exciting journey and there couldn't be a better time to join us. We're putting in place a fresh operating model for non-financial risk management across the Group, empowering our people to take end-to-end accountability for managing the risks that they face

This means we're changing how we do risk management, creating a team of risk specialists, to provide support aligned to our risk and control owners to deliver great customer outcomes.

We're looking for a Manager to join our team. You'll own the timely and accurate production of high-quality analysis and evaluation of the Operational Risk and Control environment in alignment with our Enterprise Risk Management Framework (ERMF). You'll also work closely with our Insurable Risks team members to help analyse the Group's corporate insurance requirements in relation to our Property & Casualty and Financial Lines.

Day to day you'll be:

  • Proactively working with Operational Risk Specialist teams to provide Risk support and help deliver against aligned customer, business, and strategic outcomes.
  • Producing timely and accurate data, analysis, and documentation, to monitor and manage our Group's continuous risk management performance.
  • Adopting a range of techniques to deliver prescribed analytical outcomes which inform Operational Risk Specialist decision-making and contributes to the function and wider business. Places particular focus on predictive analytics to help identify and manage risks and trends before they occur.
  • Ensuring findings and deviations are reported in a clear, accurate and compelling way to senior-level and external audiences, focusing on action needed and opportunities presented.
  • Managing the completion of actions resulting from our continuous risk management, operational risk analytics and monitoring of insurable risks. Identifying issues and engaging partners effectively to secure action and improvements.
  • Developing a core understanding of insurable risks to support the identification of exposures and mitigants.

About us

Like the modern Britain we serve, we're evolving. Investing billions in our people, data and tech to transform the way we meet the ever-changing needs of our 26 million customers. We're growing with purpose. Join us on our journey and you will too.

What you'll need

  • Expertise in both operational risk and analytics.
  • Technical proficiency in analytical and visualisation tools, including PowerBI and Tableau.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to produce high-quality analysis and products at pace.
  • Ability to move between 'the detail' and effectively communicating high-level insight in an influential way to encourage action by relevant partners.
  • Actively exhibits and promotes the LBG Values and brings them into all work. Also participates in the wider enrichment of CCOR, and the wider Group, to build a wonderful place to work.

And any experience of these would be really useful:

  • 'Open Pages' risk management system
  • Coding languages such as SQL or Python

About working for us

Our focus is to ensure we're inclusive every day, and build an organisation that reflects modern society and celebrates diversity in all its forms. We want our people to feel that they belong and can be their best, regardless of background, identity or culture.

We were one of the first major organisations to set goals on diversity in senior roles, create a menopause health package, and a dedicated Working with Cancer initiative. And it's why we especially welcome applications from under-represented groups.

We're disability confident. So if you'd like reasonable adjustments to be made to our recruitment processes, just let us know.

We also offer a wide-ranging benefits package, which includes:

  • A generous pension contribution of up to 15%
  • An annual bonus award, subject to Group performance
  • Share schemes including free shares
  • Benefits you can adapt to your lifestyle, such as discounted shopping
  • 30 days' holiday, with bank holidays on top
  • A range of wellbeing initiatives and generous parental leave policies

Want to do amazing work, that's interesting and makes a difference to millions of people? Join our journey.
