Hybrid working is in play for the successful Head of Project Management. You will lead a team of 5 Project Managers. The company has several offices around the UK, from Surrey to Manchester so there will be occasional travel. Head of Project Management – Job Purpose:

We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Head of Project Management to lead the project management team. This role involves overseeing the delivery of client-funded projects and professional services, managing a team of project managers, project engineers and handling your own projects. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in project management, excellent leadership skills, and the ability to drive successful project outcomes.

Head of Project Management - Principal Responsibilities:Leadership and Team Management:
  1. Lead, mentor, and manage a team of project managers and engineers.
  2. Foster a collaborative and high-performance team environment.
  3. Conduct regular performance reviews and provide feedback and development opportunities.
Project Management:
  1. Oversee the planning, execution, and delivery of client-funded projects.
  2. Ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget.
  3. Develop and maintain project plans, schedules, and budgets.
  4. Identify and mitigate project risks and issues.
Client Engagement:
  1. Serve as the primary point of contact for internal client management team and clients on project-related matters.
  2. Build and maintain strong client relationships.
  3. Ensure client satisfaction and manage client expectations.
Strategic Planning:
  1. Contribute to the development of project management strategies and methodologies.
  2. Align project management practices with organizational goals and objectives.
  3. Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement best practices.
Resource Management:
  1. Allocate resources effectively to ensure project success.
  2. Manage project budgets and financials.
  3. Coordinate with other departments to ensure resource availability and allocation.
Reporting and Documentation:
  1. Prepare and present project status reports to senior management and clients.
  2. Ensure compliance with organizational policies and procedures.
Head of Project Management – Qualifications & Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree in Project Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Experience managing technology deployments, often from client sites.
  • PMP or equivalent project management certification preferred.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in project management, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
  • Proven experience in managing client-funded projects.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
