Job Description

Housing Services

Civic Offices, Grays, Essex

Capital Programmes Delivery Manager

Permanent Contract

Band: H

Salary: £61,425 - £70,896 per annum

37 Hours per Week

Our vision - An ambitious and collaborative community which is proud of its heritage and excited by its diverse opportunities and future.

Thurrock is an exciting place to live and work. We are an emerging cultural and arts centre, home to the production centre for the Royal Opera House and the National Skills Academy for Creative and Cultural Skills. We have retail and leisure that is among the best, with the magnificent Lakeside, and breath-taking countryside all around.

Thurrock Council's Housing Department have an exciting opportunity to join an established team as a Capital Programmes Delivery Manager. This is a management position within the in-house Assets, Repairs and Compliance service that will directly line manage a range of officers delivering major and planned works, programmes of capital investment and sustainability schemes.

Thurrock Council owns and manages a housing portfolio of approximately 10,000 residential properties across the Thurrock borough. The portfolio varies significantly regarding size and build type, including high, low-rise blocks of flats, sheltered housing residential complexes, and a large number of street properties.

This opportunity presents a unique challenge for a self-driven and motivated individual who has the vision and skills to help drive service improvements in maintaining, repairing, and improving the housing portfolio.

In this role, the successful candidate will be able to influence and develop new programmes and projects to improve and enhance the housing stock. A keen interest in innovative renewable energy solutions is essential, as a key aspect of the role will be to champion the Council's compliance/sustainable/renewable energy development programmes.

This will include identifying suitable/adaptable energy services, commissioning and managing project feasibility, and completing project grant or fund sourcing where applicable.

We are seeking a highly motivated individual who can self-manage their time while also working collectively with other housing services teams to improve service delivery to our residents.

Applicants must be confident, proactive, and able to engage with a wide-ranging audience while being technically proficient in building works planning, procurement, and management.

Successful candidates will be supported in additional training and qualifications to ensure they have the required skill set to successfully fulfil these roles on behalf of the Authority.

Due to the wide spread of assets across Thurrock Borough, it is essential that the successful candidate has access to a vehicle that is insured and can be used for work purposes.

A DBS Check at Basic Level is required for this post.
