We have wonderful opportunities for a full-time support worker to join our caring and supportive nursing team delivering individualised care to patients (including personal care), implementing person-centred care plans and undertaking a broad range of caring duties. Previous experience of working in a healthcare setting is desirable but not essential as training is provided.
Blackheath is a 36 bed centre providing specialist person-centred rehabilitation, care and support for adults with either a brain injury or other complex neurological condition. We provide comprehensive assessment, rehabilitation and therapy and specialise in the treatment of patients with a primary cognitive or behavioural impairment resulting from a brain injury or other neurological condition.
What you'll be working:- 37.5 hours per week.
- Alternate working pattern: 3 days one week and 4 days the next week.
As a Support Worker you will:
- Assist nursing staff in providing high quality individualised care to a clearly defined group of patients, relatives, and carers.
- Work and act as a key member of the team, supporting each patient in the achievement of their planned outcomes.
- Build relationships with patients that are open and two-way.
- Support patients to undertake their rehabilitation programme.
- Establish methods of communication with patients, reducing barriers when necessary.
- Support with activities of daily living and personal care when needed.
- Communicate any issues to the clinical team.
- Accurately report and/or record work activities.
- A genuine interest in providing the best person-centred care possible.
- The ability to communicate effectively at all levels.
