Senior Account Manager

TEAM – Creative Marketing

LOCATION – UK London (hybrid)

Role

We are looking for seasoned Senior Account Managers (SAMs) with a passion for nurturing our people and client relationships to promote and support our growth. As a SAM, you will be a trusted advisor, with sound consultancy skills and the ability to provide good strategic counsel. You will make operational decisions and, with the support of our senior team, be accountable for delivering healthcare communications programs that exceed client expectations.

Creative Marketing at AXON is all about doing the right thing. We believe that's about honest consultation with clients, so we act in their interests but not always according to their brief. Insightful consideration to unlock more value. And pushing creativity upstream to give it more clout. All this gives us confidence in what we deliver and builds confidence in us.

Creative Marketing is the newest practice in AXON, so we have the rare opportunity to build and shape the practice just the way we want to. We're looking for likeminded individuals who are up for the challenge and are genuinely interested in the experience of building our practice. Joining the Creative Marketing team at AXON will give team members at all levels opportunities they may not experience in your mainstream healthcare marketing agency – including opportunities to work with practices outside of creative marketing, working on Global/European accounts and internal responsibilities that help shape the direction of our practice. If that sounds like you, we would love to hear from you.

Your responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Possess knowledge and experience in key marketing tactics, as well as a thorough understanding of creative, strategic and digital workflow processes.
  • Has sound understanding of the different creative skillsets and roles and is able to determine when they should be used within tactical and conceptual projects.
  • Is able to build strong internal relationships with the wider client service and creative team, fostering the development of a positive team culture.
  • Has experience of and is comfortable with developing written briefs for tactical and conceptual/creative projects.
  • Is aware of the need for the practice to be profitable and proactively manages budgets and scope creep effectively.
  • Critically analyses the client ask and routinely seeks to add-value and a diverse perspective.
  • Actively listens to the client to help build a positive experience of working with AXON – proactively addresses their needs/queries and resolves issues in a timely manner with the support of their senior team.
  • Provides appropriate recommendations and solutions to potential challenges, regularly forward plans including for contingencies.
  • Builds a sound understanding of the brand strategy and effectively translates with into tactical delivery.
  • Effectively mentors and trains those more junior to them, ensures quality standards are upheld at all times.

At AXON, we actively encourage the team to be involved in activities outside of their day-to-day work. Whether that is being involved in our social, Diversity & Inclusion, or CSR electives, attending networking events, or running training sessions on topics in which they have a personal interest. We have a keen focus on training and development and, as a rough guide, suggest employees aim to complete 37.5 hours of learning a year through online learning, classroom training, or attending external events; that's 1 week a year dedicated to your development.

Candidate must have:

SAM experience criteria: An experienced client service Account Manager looking to take their next step (minimum 6-months experience as AM) or someone who is already in the role as SAM looking for a new opportunity. Must be within an agency environment, focused on healthcare/pharma advertising with at least 3 years' experience.

As well as the basic salary, great social events, and a culture of continual learning, our competitive benefits package includes but is not limited to:

  • Private medical insurance (for you and your family).
  • Critical Illness cover.
  • Income Protection cover.
  • Travel insurance (for you and your family).
  • 25 days' holiday (with the ability for it to rise to a maximum of 30 days alongside length of service) – in addition to bank holidays.
  • Life assurance service insurance at 4x your salary.
  • Paid sabbaticals after 5 years' service.
