Azure Cloud Engineer

Want to be part of a hyper growth, fast paced, global business that is radically changing the decades old delivery universe as we know it? If so, read on, as we're looking for an Azure Cloud Engineer to join the team
Our mission? To switch up the status quo and become the UK's leading out-of-home business. With a fast-growing network of thousands of smart lockers, hundreds of leading retail partners and the launch of our InPost collection points, we're bringing freedom to anyone with a parcel.
On our path to transforming e-commerce delivery in the UK, we're building an unparalleled group of talent that's hungry to help us disrupt the industry (find our 2023 annual report here). Our team is packed full of top-notch experts in e-commerce, technology, scale-up growth, sustainability, logistics and supply-chain. We're a passionate bunch and expectations are high, but we're team players – collaborating, supporting, and leaving egos at the door.
About the role:
We are looking for a highly skilled Azure Cloud Engineer to join our exceptional Infrastructure team, playing a critical role in delivering and supporting our enterprise-scale cloud and infrastructure services. You will provide technical expertise, ensuring our cloud platforms are secure, resilient, scalable, and cost-effective. Working closely with cross-functional teams, suppliers, and stakeholders to support the business cloud-based applications and services.
This role requires on-call availability.
What you'll be doing:
- Troubleshoot and resolve Azure-related infrastructure and service issues.
- Contribute to the design, deployment, and management of Azure-based cloud solutions.
- Optimize cloud infrastructure for cost-effectiveness, performance, and security.
- Utilize Microsoft Defender for Cloud and other security tools to assess and enhance the security posture of the environment.
- Implement and maintain resiliency strategies to meet business continuity and disaster recovery requirements.
- Manage Entra ID (formerly Azure AD) to support Identity and Access Management (IAM) requirements.
- Automate cloud infrastructure processes using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) (Terraform preferred, Bicep also considered) and CI/CD pipelines for seamless deployments.
- Collaborate with development and operations teams to support cloud-based applications.
- Support and train other team members.
- Maintain up-to-date documentation and provide technical support for cloud environments.
What we need from you:
We're looking for people who are ready for a fast paced environment, get their kicks out of problem solving and can balance getting today's stuff done, whilst building for the future. We're looking for people with drive and natural curiosity – who want to do things differently. And do them brilliantly.
- Proven experience as an Azure Cloud Engineer or in a similar cloud-focused role.
- Strong expertise in Microsoft Azure services, including Virtual Machines, Entra ID, Networking, Storage, and Security.
- Hands-on experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools, with a strong preference for Terraform (Bicep also considered).
- Solid understanding of DevOps methodologies and experience implementing CI/CD pipelines.
- Knowledge of networking concepts such as VNETs, VPNs, Firewalls, Load Balancers, and DNS.
- Experience with Azure monitoring and logging tools, including Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, and Application Insights.
- Experience in modernising Infrastructure-as-a-Service (IaaS) platforms to improve efficiency and performance.
Preferred Qualifications & Additional Skills:
- Azure certifications, such as AZ-104 (Microsoft Azure Administrator) and AZ-305 (Designing Microsoft Azure Infrastructure Solutions).
- Experience managing and optimizing Azure cost structures.
- Familiarity with containerisation and orchestration tools, including Docker and Kubernetes.
- Experience with additional monitoring tools (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana).
The InPost process:
We pride ourselves on our candidate experience. We want to make this as straightforward as possible, for you and for us We will try our best to get back to you within a few days to let you know if we'd like to take you to the first stage. This normally involves a 20 minute chat with our Talent Team. If we both feel the connection, you'll then go through another one or two stages, depending on the level of the role.
At InPost, we love uniqueness. Our strength is our people.
We strive to create an open, equal, inclusive environment in which everyone has the opportunity to flourish and be themselves.
