Electrician Project Manager required in Cambridge

My client is seeking an Electrical Project Manager in the Cambridgeshire area. You will be required to oversee Building services projects ranging from typically £1M-£5m in commercial, educational, and public health sectors. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in managing MEP installations for commercial projects, with a focus on quality, safety, and budget control.

Key Responsibilities and Requirements:
  1. Oversee project from conception to completion and experience in both Design and Build as well as traditional.
  2. Plan, coordinate, and manage installations.
  3. Manage and plan commissioning & ensure satisfactory handover of project including client familiarisation.
  4. Compilation and production of testing, handover and O&M documentation at completion.
  5. Ensure all mechanical works are carried out in compliance with specification, drawings, and industry standards.
  6. Develop project programme and record progress, delays and disruption including capturing contract variations.
  7. Ensuring efficient allocation of resources and timely completion of tasks including subcontractor selections, appointments, and management.
  8. Proactive management of defects or quality compliance issues.
  9. Monitor project progress, identify any potential issues, and implement corrective actions as needed.
  10. Build and maintain good client, main contractor, and supply chain relationships.
  11. Liaise with clients, consultants, subcontractors, and internal teams to ensure smooth communication and project delivery.
  12. Oversee and manage site teams, providing leadership and guidance throughout the project lifecycle.
  13. Ensure the procurement and delivery of materials, tools, and equipment in line with the project timeline including assessment of selections and issuing of technical submissions.
  14. Good procurement ability and ensure cost effectiveness during procurement of equipment and materials including building relationships with suppliers and manufacturers.
  15. Read and understand drawings, schematics, and specification, undertake material take-offs, and liaise with suppliers for procurement.
  16. Ensure compliance of the installation in line with drawings, specification and required standards.
  17. Compile regular progress reports, meeting minutes and records and issue to client and senior management.
  18. Manage project costs are in line with project budgets and ensure financial targets are met.
  19. Making sure the project is delivered in a safe manner.
  20. Ensure site teams maintain H&S documentation/records for the project and undertake regular safety inspections.
  21. Strong IT skills, including proficiency in project management software and MS Office.
  22. Proven experience as a Building Services Project Manager, with a solid understanding of Electrical/Mechanical systems in commercial projects.
  23. Relevant qualifications and experience within their designated fields.
  24. Hold a current SMSTS/SSSTS certification and CSCS card.
  25. Good communication and teamwork skills.
  26. Previous experience undertaking site management role within sector and proven track record in delivering projects.
