You will need to be resilient with a committed and flexible work ethos. Excellent interpersonal skills are essential for this role to progress and overcome the day to day challenges of managing timely clinical flows in a large multi-specialty hospital which strives for excellence at every opportunity.

You will be joining a committed Team of Site Managers, maintaining an agreed Site model in place with expectations to provide additional senior presence to the Emergency Department overnight to operationally respond to a constantly changing healthcare environment.

If this sounds like the challenging career move you are looking for and you have the experience required, we are looking forward to receiving your application. The Site Management Team encourages informal visits to gain insight into the role.

Informal discussions/visits can be facilitated by emailing paul.tann@mft.nhs.uk or you can contact, via vocera 0161 701 9600 and ask for Paul Tann.

Main duties of the job

You will set actions with CSU management to drive operational performance and to support optimum patient outcomes and timely access to the right level of care.

Supported within a senior management structure, you will work within the MRI Site Management Team to provide professional and operational leadership on a day to day basis to ensure emergency, elective, urgent planned, tertiary and repatriation flows are managed to enable timely access to acute pathways, based on clinical need. You will be an assertive, confident, professional practitioner with the experience required as outlined in the person specification for this role. You will be an individual who strives to achieve excellence and the best outcomes for patients by working collaboratively with Clinical Service Units and by demonstrating day to day leadership on your shift to ensure the Team manage activity and demand within available bed capacity. You will have an eye for detail, work proactively and responsively with a consistent focus on quality and safety, be a 'quick thinker' for informed decision-making in a fast-paced environment, with the confidence to change direction to meet changing priorities at short notice in a pressure environment, working closely with clinicians and operational staff at all levels.

Working for our organisation

MFT is one of the largest NHS Trusts in England with a turnover of £2.8bn and is on a different scale than most other NHS Trusts. We're creating an exceptional integrated health and social care system for the 1 million patients who rely on our services every year.

Bringing together 10 hospitals and community services from across Manchester, Trafford and beyond, we champion collaborative working and transformation, encouraging our 30,000 workforce to pursue their most ambitious goals. We set standards that other Trusts seek to emulate so you'll benefit from a scale of opportunity that is nothing short of extraordinary.

We've also created a digitally enabled organisation to improve clinical quality, patient and staff experience, operational effectiveness and driving research, and innovation through the introduction of Hive; our Electronic Patient Record system which launched in September 2022.

We're proud to be a major academic Research Centre and Education provider, providing you with a robust infrastructure to encourage and facilitate high-quality research programmes. What's more, we're excited to be embarking on our Green Plan which sets out how MFT continues to play its part in making healthcare more sustainable.

At MFT, we create and foster a culture of inclusion and belonging, provide equal opportunities for career development that are fair, open, and transparent, protecting your health and wellbeing and shaping the future of our organisation together.
