Due to a recent acquisition, we are seeking a dynamic and results-driven Head of Marketplace/Head of Sales to join an established Commercial Finance business. Via new and existing strategic partnerships and technology, the Marketplace channel will be responsible for connecting SMEs to funding solutions through their existing extensive panel of lenders – taking the stress out of financing for SMEs.

This role will be pivotal for this new channel, and will be responsible for managing the marketplace for online commercial finance solutions, driving sales growth, and optimising brokerage operations to ensure they provide their customers with the best financial products and services. You will also be responsible for driving growth and exploring future strategic partnerships to expand the business further. You will be responsible for overseeing the marketplace's commercial strategies, driving revenue growth, and leading a high-performing sales team within this rapidly growing Fintech company.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Develop and execute the overall strategy for the marketplace, aligning with the company's vision and business goals.
  2. Lead the development and growth of the online commercial finance brokerage platform.
  3. Identify new opportunities for growth via new strategic partnerships.
  4. Continually improve the user experience for customers.
  5. Manage, lead and grow the sales team to achieve targets and KPIs, ensuring a high level of motivation and performance.
  6. Establish sales processes, performance benchmarks, and coaching techniques to drive the team's success.
  7. Foster a culture of high performance, collaboration, and continuous improvement across the sales team.
  8. Build strong relationships with key financial institutions, lenders, brokers, and partners to expand the product offerings within the marketplace.
  9. Work closely with marketing, operations, product, and technology teams to ensure the platform's offerings are aligned with customer needs.
  10. Work collaboratively with other specialist areas within the wider business.

Key Skills and Experience:

  1. Proven track record of leading sales teams in a commercial finance brokerage environment, with a strong focus on driving results and scaling operations.
  2. Deep understanding of commercial finance products, marketplace and competitors.
  3. Excellent relationship-building skills with key clients, strategic partners, financial institutions, and stakeholders.
  4. Experience in managing, motivating, and developing high-performing teams.
  5. Comfortable using CRM platforms, sales tools, and analytics software to track and manage sales performance.
