Responsibilities:

  • Conduct quarterly reserve reviews for specific lines of business, including calculation of central estimates and management's best estimate.
  • Present reserve review results to underwriting, finance, and senior management.
  • Support Solvency II Technical Provision calculations and related regulatory reporting.
  • Assist with annual reserve risk parameterisation and liaise with auditors and internal teams.
  • Contribute to loss ratio planning by integrating reserving insights into pricing and planning exercises.
  • Maintain and enhance reserving databases, tools, and applications.
  • Develop and manage relationships with underwriters, claims, and finance teams.
  • Provide support for external actuarial reviews and regulatory submissions.
Requirements:
  • Nearly or fully qualified actuary (FIA or equivalent) with several years of reserving experience.
  • Experience in the London Market, with knowledge of reserving methodologies across multiple lines of business.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
  • Ability to communicate technical findings effectively to non-actuarial colleagues.
  • Familiarity with regulatory reporting requirements, including Solvency II and Lloyd's reporting.
  • Ability to work in a collaborative, team-oriented environment.

  • This role is based in London, with hybrid working options available.
  • Candidates must have the right to work in the UK; visa sponsorship is not available.
