CRIMINAL SOLICITOR (PRIVATE CRIME), 5+ YEARS PQE, BUCKINGHAMSHIRE, £45,000 - £55,000 (DOE) – You will be joining a team that undertakes a varied range of privately funded general crime and road traffic matters. JOB REF: 215297988

THE ROLE:
You will have a varied caseload which will include:

  1. Advising and representing clients in criminal matters, including providing legal representation at police stations and court proceedings.
  2. Drafting legal documents, including correspondence, proofs, witness statements and pleadings.
  3. Conducting case preparation, including gathering evidence, interviewing witnesses, and liaising with the Crown Prosecution Service.
  4. Developing and maintaining strong working relationships with clients, colleagues, and other professionals within the criminal justice system.
  5. Undertaking advocacy in the Magistrates' Court, including exceptional hardship applications and trials.
  6. Providing comprehensive legal advice to clients.
  7. Representing clients in general crime and road traffic matters.

THE CANDIDATE:
You will have a good grounding in all aspects of criminal law and be passionate about building a private criminal practice. You will have experience of working with private clients and generating work outside of duty solicitor rotas/schemes. You will manage your own caseload, assist with business development and support junior members of the team. Regulatory experience is desirable as is own client following.
