Location: North West England, United Kingdom

About the Company:

Our client is a pioneering industrial leader, with over three decades of experience, and a strong international presence, operating in six countries. The company is committed to environmental stewardship, emphasizing a sustainable circular economy through innovative industrial processes. Their extensive product range serves diverse sectors, including agriculture, construction, and urban design, reflecting their dedication to quality and sustainability.

About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Sales-oriented Manager to drive strategic business growth and ensure – in the second phase - operational excellence within the UK operations. This role offers significant opportunities for professional development within a stable and forward-thinking organization and is meant to grow into a successor to the current Managing Director planning to retire with a bridging time of 12-18 months. A successful candidate will work closely with the company's senior leadership team, gaining valuable insights into the business and contributing to its long-term success.

Requirements

Key Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Leadership: Collaborate with the management team to refine and execute long-term strategies, ensuring continuous improvement, sustained profitability, and market competitiveness.
  • Sales and Business Development: Leverage your experience in the UK key account management to strengthen customer relationships, drive new customers' acquisition and sales growth for customized industrial products, and identify new business opportunities.
  • Team Management: Lead and inspire a management team, fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and professional development.
  • Operational Oversight: Provide hands-on support in commercial and technical areas, including strategic account management, project execution, operational problem-solving, and continuous improvement.
  • Financial Acumen: Monitor financial performance, contribute to budgeting processes, and ensure profitability while managing cost challenges (e.g., energy and labor costs).

Ideal Candidate Profile:

  • Proven track record in senior leadership roles, equivalent or aiming to naturally grow into the target role, within industrial companies manufacturing and selling both technical ready-made and customized products.
  • Strong background in UK or European key account management, with demonstrated success in driving sales and building long-term customer relationships.
  • Hands-on experience with project management and strategic decision-making in a business environment facing cost and operational challenges.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and leadership skills, with the ability to motivate teams and manage diverse stakeholders effectively.
  • Residency within North West England area, given the importance of onsite presence.
  • Capacity for business travel to clients and potential customers around the UK and for Group meetings abroad – up to 30 percent of the time.
  • A mature, ambitious, and results-driven professional with a desire to contribute to the company's long-term success and drive change.
  • Honesty, high ethical standards, and unwavering integrity in business practices.
  • Strong sense of reliability, ensuring follow-through on commitments and delivering consistent results.
  • A balanced approach to decision-making, with the ability to lead under pressure and in challenging circumstances.
  • Team player with empathy and interpersonal skills to build trust and strong relationships both within and outside the organization. Leading by example.
  • Resilient and adaptable, with the ability to drive growth while maintaining long-term stability, hands-on, pragmatic.
  • Opportunity to make a lasting impact in a well-established and respected organization.
  • Contributing to an innovative organization committed to sustainability and delivering long-term value to its customers and the environment.
  • Supportive and collaborative team of professionals in a dynamic and inclusive work environment.
  • Career growth opportunities with a clear path to leadership and management of the UK branch in 2 phases: 1. Leading sales, being part of the senior leadership team, 2. Taking on MD role.
  • Competitive fixed salary, benchmarked against market standards.
  • Performance-based bonus tied to the company's success.
  • Company car for personal and professional use.
