JOB TITLE: SUBSEA ENGINEERING LEAD

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Responsible for interactions with Development team and installation contractors for FEED and Execution phases, through to pre-commissioning and handover. Responsible for supporting in country subsea team in day-to-day activities and liaising with relevant subcontractors.
  2. Tendering support ITT preparation, clarification, evaluation & RTA.
  3. Technical oversight and documentation review.
  4. Construction & Installation planning & activity management in country support facilities/base set-up for installation campaign.
  5. Interface management.
  6. Onshore & Offshore activity supervision (incl: in-country location during installation phase).
  7. Support onshore integration testing (with SPS).
  8. Progress assessment & reporting.
  9. HSEQ leadership.
  10. Ensure that all activities within the area of responsibility are adequately documented and lessons learned captured.
  11. Provide support to the in-country operations team on all matters relating to subsea integrity and subsea well services operations.
  12. Liaise with LLI and CPI suppliers, Installation contractors, QA/QC inspection contractor and Verification body, subsurface disciplines and drilling as project requires.
  13. Participate in client project meetings and regular reporting requirements. Providing operational support and coaching as required.
  14. Provide day-to-day technical management and oversight of the Installation Contractor(s) across all associated engineering activities.
  15. Provide support to the Subsea Delivery Manager.
  16. Ensure optimal delivery of budgetary commitments within the Block B assets.
  17. Identify and act upon any areas of efficiency in a timely manner with a view of delivering cost savings without risk to safety or production.
  18. Ability to lead and work in a team, resolving day-to-day operational issues as they occur on both platform and subsea wells.
  19. Ability to manage system issues and liaise with external support teams to bring resolutions.
  20. Ability to manage multiple work scopes, prioritising and allocating resources as required for the best outcome for the Block B assets.

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:

  1. Degree qualified or with significant experience working in the oil and gas industry, especially in subsea & pipelines including URF/Installation lead roles.
  2. Proven Installation Contractor management experience including with flex and rigid pipelay, subsea manifolds/foundations and driverless connection techniques & subsea control/umbilical systems.
  3. Knowledge and project experience with relevant national and international codes & standards.
  4. Must be able to demonstrate continuing personal and professional development. Professional membership as applicable supported.
  5. Commercially aware with experience of managing sizeable offshore construction contracts.
  6. Demonstrated URF technical responsibility and commercial awareness.
  7. West African deepwater development experience preferable.
  8. Strong drive to learn and develop own abilities and able to work independently but seek guidance when needed.
  9. Strong personal values and willing to take clear personal accountability for actions.
  10. Demonstrated verbal and written communication and presentation skills. This requires the ability to articulate in a clear, concise and constructive manner at the appropriate level for the intended audience.
  11. Produces work of accurate and presentable quality in the appropriate formats.
  12. Good organisational skills, SMART working methods and can demonstrate personal effectiveness in previous roles.
  13. Comfortable working with a variety of teams and parts of the organisation.
  14. Self-motivated and able to deliver in a goal orientated working environment.
  15. Awareness and sensitivity to multinational exposures and cultures.
  16. Activity planning, budgeting and cost management.
  17. Champion the management of change process for the asset.
  18. Setting priorities and developing integrated project scopes from multiple inputs from the conception.
  19. In depth knowledge and understanding of well barriers and barrier management.
  20. Contribute to the delivery of engineering workscopes and small projects.
  21. Ability to frame and solve engineering problems with appropriate, innovative solutions.
  22. Asset interface to engineering and 3rd party contractors.
  23. Good knowledge of well intervention equipment and well services operations.
  24. Ability to engage with multidisciplinary teams to explain complex technical issues in a clear manner, to support operational and project management decisions.
  25. Able to produce high quality written work and formal presentations which match identified requirements.
  26. Ability to communicate formally and informally with a wide range of people.
  27. Ability to work effectively within a team environment.
  28. Builds strong constructive working relationships with a wide range of people both within the local organisation and externally.
  29. Effectively and openly shares information with the wider organisation in support of the overall business goals.
  30. Can demonstrate examples of delivering high quality work, both as an individual and working with a team.
  31. Able to manage priorities and seek support when required.
