Manchester England United Kingdom Co-op Full time

Data and Systems Services Manager

£49,300 - £58,000 plus great benefits (Work Level 5)

Manchester - In this role you'll work in a hybrid way, splitting your time between home and the office, typically once a week. Find out more about our hybrid working policy at here.

We're looking for a Data and Systems Services Manager within our Programme Team where we have brought together our data and insight teams to transform how we manage data across CBS. You'll be part of our wider Co-op Business Services (CBS) organisation. CBS is made up of a number of diverse teams dedicated to delivering high-quality, reliable and cost-effective business services across our Co-op. You'll play a key role in helping CBS to support and realise our group vision of 'co-operating to build more value for member-owners every day'.

In this role, you'll play a key part in shaping service performance while guiding the team toward success and fostering strong relationships with senior leaders. You'll immerse yourself in our key business systems and domain data, working to enhance governance and drive ongoing progress across the business. By influencing both partners and senior leaders, you'll lead the charge in improving risk management, data quality, and project outcomes.

This is a transformative opportunity to make a real impact in an evolving role - shaping something from the ground up and driving positive change for both colleagues and customers. Sounds good, doesn't it?

What you'll do

  • Work within our transformative data and insight programme team to deliver improvements to how our data adds value to Co-op
  • Manage relationships with multiple stakeholders to ensure clear communication and alignment on new changes or projects involving our key business systems
  • Drive initiatives to improve data quality across our systems; including revitalising our data governance landscape across CBS
  • Ensure solutions meet requirements and are aware of inter-dependencies across projects
  • Work with the leadership team to ensure service delivery aligns with current and future needs
  • Role model inclusive behaviour and promote a collaborative, respectful work culture
  • Coach and support team members to encourage learning and development
  • Ensure service operations comply with Co-op policies, control standards, and ways of working

This role would suit people who have

  • Extensive experience in governance, project management, and strategic thinking
  • Experience managing a multiple system SME team and/or shared service environment
  • Proven ability to manage stakeholders at all levels and drive service delivery and continuous improvement
  • Strong communication skills, customer-focused mindset, and proactive problem-solving abilities
  • Solid organisational knowledge, data literacy, and resilience in dynamic, fast-paced environments

Why Co-op?

If you've got the skills and experience we're looking for, we can offer you a competitive salary and great benefits package which includes 30% off Co-op branded products in our food stores (as well as other discounts on Co-op products and services). You'll also get:

  • Private healthcare
  • An annual bonus (based on personal and business performance)
  • 28 days holiday (rising to 32 with service) plus bank holidays
  • A pension with up to 10% employer contributions
  • Access to a subsidised onsite gym (at our Manchester HQ)
  • Coaching and training to support your career development
  • Wagestream – a money management app that gives you access to a percentage of your pay as you earn it
  • Grocery Aid – 24/7 access to a range of emotional, financial, and practical support services for you and your family

Building an inclusive work environment

At Co-op, we're proud to do things a different way. As one of the world's largest co-operatives, owned by millions of members, community is at the heart of what we do. Since our Co-op was founded in 1844, we've had a clear social purpose, and everything we do as a business helps to build a fairer world for our members, customers, colleagues, and communities.

We're actively building diverse teams and we welcome applications from everyone. If you have a disability, we can make reasonable adjustments to our recruitment process according to your needs. We're also part of the Disability Confident scheme, meaning we'll always offer an interview to disabled candidates who apply through the scheme if they meet the minimum criteria for a job.

If we invite you to take part in the recruitment process for any of our jobs, we'll ask you if you need any reasonable adjustments to enable you to participate.

You can find out more about our recruitment process at here.

You can find out more about the Disability Confident scheme and all our commitments to diversity and inclusion at here.

Please note that we may close applications for this role early.

As part of your application, you'll need to complete an online assessment. This assessment typically takes between 45-60 minutes. If you're a current Co-op colleague, this does not need to be completed.
