London, Greater London, United Kingdom JR United Kingdom Full time

One of the world's leading international banks, headquartered in London, is seeking to hire a Legal Counsel (VP) in its employment legal function.

The role will advise on the following:

  1. Providing legal advice and support to the HR department and the businesses on the full range of employment matters. This will involve non-contentious advisory on policy issues, change programs, compensation and benefits, and pensions matters. There will also be scope to advise on contentious issues involving investigations and disputes and senior executive exits.
  2. Creation and review of legal documents such as employee contracts and policies, severance agreements, incentive plans, and pension documentation.
  3. Developing and delivering training programmes on applicable legal and regulatory requirements.

This role would suit a lawyer from private practice seeking a move in-house or someone who already has experience in-house within the financial services sector.

You should have:

  1. At least 3 years' (or more) PQE from a law firm that advises on employment matters for financial services clients OR experience from within an in-house employment team in a financial services environment. Knowledge of the SMCR would be advantageous.
  2. Direct experience of employment agreements, advisory matters, and experience in dealing with contentious employment matters and disputes.
  3. An ability to operate in a wider in-house team, working with a broad range of staff from across the bank and giving pragmatic and commercial advice in a regulated setting.

To discuss this exceptional opportunity within a bank that offers a hybrid working arrangement, please contact James Franklin at Danos Group, in confidence.
