TK Elevator's service and maintenance operations are supported by our International Technical Services network (ITS): a global network of research centres and product experts dedicated to providing high-level technical support for our competitors' elevators and escalators. ITS Manchester is a unique environment, with lift and escalator engineers alongside software and electronics specialists, working together to understand the latest technology developments in our industry and deliver solutions for our customers' service requirements.
What we expectWe are looking for an experienced Elevator & Escalator NVQ4 or equivalent engineer with training delivery and content creation to join our ITS division based in Manchester, reporting to the ITS Director. This role will be responsible for creating content and facilitating technical training across TK Elevator Business Unit Europe Africa (BU:EA), through understanding learning styles and learning architecture, as defined by the needs of the field organisation and the needs of the wider ITS business.
Support for our field technicians across BU:EA is also in scope of the role, providing them with the knowledge, expertise, and confidence to work on a diverse array of 3rd party elevator and escalator control systems in a safe and effective manner, working both independently and collaboratively with ITS Senior Leadership and as an extension to the Field Support Engineers team(s).
As the ITS Training Manager your day to day will include:
- Work in cooperation with ITS senior leadership team
- Ensure internal "Train-the-Trainer" sessions are provided where required.
- Build and expand upon cooperation and links with other ITS centres, SEED Campus Level Up and SCE (Budapest), etc.
- Deliver MS Teams based training using video production hardware (automated HD cameras, video hubs, etc.) & software (OBS, Video Pad, TeamViewer, etc.) and outside broadcasting techniques
- Deliver face-to-face training to groups of technicians both in a classroom environment and on-site
- Organise and update training calendar with the cooperation of local training administrators and ITS field support engineers (trainers)
- Review and update existing training courses and media
- Respond to incoming training enquiries and schedule
- Create & deliver technical training courses & content for these control systems, using various platforms and production techniques (docx; pptx.; pdf; etc.)
- Create training content using Ai packages such as Synthesia & V-Yond
- Attend promotional customer face-to-face and virtual meetings
- Administration of ITS Centre SharePoint and MS Stream video facility
- Collating and reporting training KPI's
- Collaborate with Field Support Engineers to facilitate training to both domestic (UK) and across Europe
- NVQ Level 4 qualified in Lifts/Escalators

- An investigative mind-set that approaches issues from all angles, especially for the purpose of identifying workarounds for ongoing incidents
- It is desirable to have fluent language skills, especially in German and/or French, however, Italian can also be considered
- Methodical, strong organisational and multi-tasking skills with a keen attention to detail
- Possess excellent written and verbal communication skills
- A good working knowledge of MS Office based applications
- A good working knowledge of video and audio editing applications
- A good knowledge of Synthesia & Vyond media creation packages
