Job Title: Senior Planning Lawyer
Hourly Rate: £40.00 to £50.00 per hour (Umbrella)
Contract: 3 months with possibility of extension, 36 hours per week
Location: North West London 3 days per week office attendance
The Role
We are looking for a Senior Planning Lawyer to join our Planning Team on a 3-month ongoing contract. You will:
- Provide high-level, proactive legal advice on planning matters to the Council, its members, and officers.
- Serve as a point of contact for members and senior officers on planning-related legal matters.
- Attend planning committee meetings as required.
- Allocate work to appropriate team members.
- Monitor the quality of work produced by the team.
- Manage and support a small team (1 member) while ensuring appropriate training and development.
The successful Senior Planning Lawyer will possess:
- A current practising certificate (as a Barrister, Solicitor, or Legal Executive).
- A positive attitude and the ability to lead a small team.
- Strong experience in all aspects of planning law.
- The ability to anticipate and resolve problems efficiently.
- Experience of working within the Planning Law team of a public sector organisation.
