About the Company - Our client within the defense sector is looking for a Finance Analyst/Project Accountant to join their team, this role will be hybrid and a salary of up to £62,000.

• Review programme costs and estimates to complete, providing support and constructive challenge to Project Managers (PMs) and Work Package Managers.
• Monitor weekly and monthly timesheet bookings against programmes to ensure labour costs are accurately recorded.
• Track and analyse actual programme financials compared to bid positions and forecasts.
• Maintain financial schedules and sub-ledgers, particularly for programme reporting purposes.
• Conduct variance analysis on costs, scope, and schedules, identifying and reporting on associated risks.
• Identify variances and collaborate with project management to resolve outstanding issues.
• Assess programme resource requirements and monitor alignment with actual resources allocated.
• Prepare financial reports for customers as outlined in programme contracts.
• Monitor and report on programme cashflow, including gross margin analysis.
• Support Programme Managers with customer interactions when necessary.
• Assist Programme Managers with project and Excel-based reporting tools.
• Aid in the programme budgeting and forecasting process.
• Provide regular programme reports to PMs and senior management as required.
• Oversee quarterly Programme Cost Reviews, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
• Provide detailed programme inputs for FP&A processes, budgets, and forecasts.
• Coordinate and ensure timely programme invoicing, track unpaid invoices, and assist in resolving overdue customer payments.
• Support month-end close processes and reporting.

Minimum Requirements - Typically, a Bachelor Degree in a related field and related experience in program management or experience in multiple functions working with program management. May be required to maintain security clearance.
