Job title: Senior Electrical Design Engineer

I am working with a respected Design and Building company in Dorset, who are seeking a Senior Electrical Design Engineer to take a leading role in the business. They specialise in mechanical, electrical, and renewable services and are known for their commitment to quality, safety, and innovation, serving a wide range of clients in the commercial, industrial, and large-scale domestic sectors.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for management of project-specific design deliverables
  • Interpreting and understanding client requirements from client documents (drawings, specifications, correspondence, etc.)
  • Co-ordinate with the Mechanical Design Engineer/M&E Co-ordinator
  • Produce marked drawings for the CAD/Revit team to draft, ensuring detailed design drawings are specification-compliant
  • Communication with client, external design resources, and subcontractors to ensure compliance with specifications
  • Conduct design calculations utilising software packages such as Electrical OM, Amtech, Dialux, and Relux
  • Undertake design risk assessments to support detailed design proposals
  • Provide design support to Junior Design Engineers
  • Producing and developing designs within commercial constraints
  • Managing change control during the design phase
