As a Junior Broker on the Gas Options Desk, you will work closely with senior brokers and traders to support the execution and management of gas options trades. This is a key role within a highly competitive market, and you will be expected to contribute to both day-to-day operations and the long-term strategic goals of the desk. Your fluency in Mandarin will be essential as you will be handling client relationships, liaising with international markets, and facilitating communication in Mandarin-speaking regions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist senior brokers and traders in executing gas options trades across global markets.
  • Provide market analysis and gather insights to inform trading decisions.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients and counterparties, with a focus on Mandarin-speaking clients and markets.
  • Monitor market developments and news to identify potential trading opportunities.
  • Ensure all trades are executed accurately and in compliance with relevant regulations.
  • Collaborate with the desk to develop and execute trading strategies.
  • Communicate clearly and effectively with clients, both in English and Mandarin.
  • Support daily desk operations, including reporting, risk management, and post-trade activities.

Qualifications:

  • Fluency in Mandarin (spoken and written) is essential.
  • A strong interest in financial markets, particularly in energy and gas options.
  • Strong numerical, analytical, and communication skills.
  • A relevant degree in finance, economics, or a related field is preferred.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and high-pressure environment.
  • Strong IT skills
  • Strong attention to detail and a proactive approach to tasks.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
