Delivery Manager – UK Public Sector ProgrammeContract Length: 3–6 months rolling contractRate: Inside IR35Location: Manchester (2 days per week onsite)Start: JanuaryThe following information provides an overview of the skills, qualities, and qualifications needed for this role.An established digital delivery consultancy is supporting a major UK government transformation programme and is looking to onboard four experienced Delivery Managers to join a critical, high-profile initiative starting in January.These roles sit within a large, complex programme with multiple suppliers, cross-workstream dependencies, and significant delivery pressure. The focus is on owning delivery end to end, stabilising workstreams, and driving momentum in an environment where delivery rigour is essential.About the RoleYou will be embedded within a complex public sector programme, working across multiple delivery streams and suppliers. This is a hands-on role requiring senior-level delivery capability, strong stakeholder management, and the confidence to challenge where needed.The expectation is that Delivery Managers will take full ownership of delivery, proactively managing risk, dependencies, and outcomes rather than simply facilitating ceremonies.Onsite presence in Manchester is required two days per week.Key ResponsibilitiesOwn delivery across complex workstreams with multiple dependenciesActively manage RAID, delivery plans, and cross-supplier coordinationDrive delivery momentum, resolving blockers and escalating risks earlyWork closely with product, engineering, and policy stakeholdersManage delivery in collaboration with other suppliers within the programmeProvide clear, confident delivery leadership in a high-pressure environmentEnsure outcomes are delivered to time, quality, and expectationExperience RequiredStrong experience as a Delivery Manager on large-scale digital or transformation programmesBackground delivering within the UK public sector or similarly complex, regulated environmentsComfortable working across multiple suppliers and delivery partnersProven ability to own delivery, manage risk, and push work forwardConfident engaging with senior stakeholders and challenging where necessaryThis role will suit Delivery Managers who enjoy complex problem spaces, accountability, and delivery ownership, rather than light-touch facilitation.Interested? xwwtmva If you are an experienced Delivery Manager available in January and comfortable working onsite in Manchester, apply now or get in touch for a confidential discussion.
