In this role, you’ll conduct product certification assessments across varied environments, ensuring compliance with BSI’s rigorous certification schemes and Kitemark standards.We’re seeking professionals to deliver product assessment audits across varied sectors and manufacturing environments and would be particularly interested in speaking with people with experience in construction product manufacturing, electrical lighting or consumer electronics manufacturing, gas product manufacturing, personal protective equipment manufacturing, fire safety equipment manufacturing, doors & windows (fenestration) manufacturing.Experience in auditing against the following schemes: UKCA, CE Marking, Kitemark, IECEE CB would be highly beneficial.Previous auditing experience is a plus, as well as expertise in quality management systems (ISO 9 Lead Auditor certification would be a distinct benefit. This is a field based position that requires extensive travel and potential overnight stays nationwide across UK&I Essential ResponsibilitiesPrepare assessment reports and deliver findings to clients to ensure client understanding of the assessment decision and clear direction to particular items of corrective action where appropriateRecommend the issue, re-issue or withdrawal of certificates, and report recommendations in accordance with BSI policy, procedures and prescribed time frame.Maintain overall account responsibility and accountability for nominated accounts to ensure an effective partnership, whilst ensuring excellent service delivery and account growth.Lead assessment teams as required ensuring that team members are adequately briefed so that quality of service is maintained and that effective working relationships are sustained both with Clients and within the team.Provide accurate and prompt information to support services, working closely with them to ensure that client records are up to date and complete and that all other internal information requirements are met.Coach colleagues as appropriate especially where those members are inexperienced assessors or unfamiliar with clients' business/technology and assist in the induction and coaching of new colleagues as requestedPlan/schedule workloads to make best use of own time and maximise revenue-earning activity.Responsible for attending any required training and following all procedures/processes/policies within BSI for management of clients, management of a home-based office, use of BSI equipment and communication both internal and external to the organizationMust be willing to go through extensive onboarding plan in order to reach Lead Assessor status through the prescribed program (based on the knowledge, skills and experience they have as well as the requirements of the appropriate schemes)Must be able to demonstrate knowledge and skills, to include preparation for and taking standardized assessments related to knowledge and application of audit practicesResponsible for managing a portfolio of assigned clients based on location and a match of qualifications and client contract requirementsResponsible for contacting clients and scheduling the visits, planning the assessments, making travel plans, conducting the assessments and reporting and managing the results in an efficient manner.Responsible for monitoring the client accounts to ensure that records, visit cycle, invoicing and other related matters are properly dealt with to assure client satisfaction is maintainedResponsible for leading teams, when necessary, and mentoring and coaching new or inexperienced colleagues as needed to meet the business needsAny other assignments as needed to meet assessment delivery business objectivesEducation/QualificationsA minimum of 4 years’ industry experience gained within a product manufacturing environment and with an emphasis on quality management or product certificationQualified to degree level within a manufacturing or construction related subjectPrevious experience in product assessment or auditing, against standardsCan travel frequently across the UKKnowledge of quality management system auditing practices (ISO 9001)What We Offer YouBSI offers a competitive total reward package, an independent and varied job in an international environment, flexible working hours, ongoing training, and development with the inclusion of Annual Bonus, Company Vehicle, Contribution Based Pension, Private Healthcare, 27 Days Annual Leave + Bank Holidays, Life Assurance.Do you believe the world deserves excellence?We are proud to be the business improvement company for other organisations to become more sustainable and resilient and finally to inspire trust in their products, systems, services, and the world we live in.Headquartered in London, BSI is the world's first national standards organization with more than 100 years of experience.
