Senior Manager Technical Accounting and ReportingSubmit your CV and any additional required information after you have read this description by clicking on the application button.Location: LondonContract: PermanentHours: Full time- 35 hoursPurpose of the roleThe Senior Manager Technical Accounting and Reporting is a team leadership role in the Finance Operations and Regulatory Reporting function, upholding the financial integrity of results in a dynamic and high-growth organisation.This is a role for an experienced professional with deep knowledge of life insurance and reinsurance accounting and stewardship of Solvency II and other related regulatory reporting, requirements and upcoming changes.In this role you will present insightful analysis of GAAP ledger, controls and Solvency II reporting to the Executive leadership team.About JustWe help people achieve a better later life. We are on an exciting growth journey to become the UK’s most loved retirement expert.Key ResponsibilitiesManage the monthly reporting close process to ensure the results are complete, accurate and compliant with group accounting policiesDevelop an understanding to challenge and analyse the financial inputs from other teams, eg Group, Actuarial, Treasury and TaxAssist in providing business support on material finance transactions and projectsSupport on finance transformation initiatives that will improve efficiency, effectiveness and reduce operational risk for the finance teamSupport the production of financial statements and regulatory returns for UK life, distribution and management services companiesWork successfully with key managers within Actuarial, Finance and the business, ensuring that the team is kept up to date with both the developing business (new products) and changing external environmentEnsure that risks regarding the results production and financial operations are reported and understoodEnsure appropriate controls and reconciliations are in place to support the accuracy and financial integrity of the resultsAssist in managing the external audit relationship for finance outputs subject to audit (financial statements and regulatory returns, and information produced by the team to support market announcements)Motivate, manage and develop a high performing teamWhat we are looking forProfessional Accountancy Qualification, e.g. ICAEW, ACCA, CIMA is essentialSignificant post-qualification experience of insurance accounting/ reporting under IFRS is essentialExperience of Solvency II reporting and taxation is desirableExcellent knowledge of life accounting and reportingExcellent knowledge of data management and analysisKnowledge of financial analysis and controlsStrong people management skillsGood problem analysis and pro-active resolution skillsUnderstanding of the products and services provided by the GroupUnderstanding of the industry and the marketExcellent verbal and written communicationExcellent attention to detailOur behavioursAt Just you’ll have the opportunity to develop your career, whilst making a difference to the lives of those around you.
