We are seeking an experienced and highly organized Transport Planner to join our team in the Hire industry. The successful candidate will be responsible for efficiently planning and coordinating the transportation of equipment, ensuring timely deliveries and collections while optimizing fleet operations and costs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan, schedule, and coordinate the transport of equipment to and from customer sites.
- Optimize fleet utilization to maximize efficiency and reduce costs.
- Liaise with drivers, customers, and internal teams to ensure smooth operations.
- Monitor transport schedules and adjust plans as needed to accommodate last-minute changes.
- Ensure compliance with transport regulations, health & safety guidelines, and company policies.
- Track vehicle movements and manage driver workloads using fleet management systems.
- Work closely with the hire desk, operations, and logistics teams to ensure customer satisfaction.
- Address transport-related issues, including delays, breakdowns, and route optimizations.
- Maintain accurate records of transport activities, fuel usage, and vehicle maintenance schedules.
- Continuously improve transport processes and identify opportunities for cost savings.
Key Requirements:
- Proven experience in transport planning, ideally within the powered access, plant hire, or any relative sectors.
- Strong knowledge of transport regulations and compliance requirements.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Proficiency in using transport management and fleet tracking systems.
- Strong geographical knowledge and route planning skills.
- A proactive and adaptable approach to logistical challenges.
