HGV Class 1 Driver Wolverhampton Recruitment Solutions are seeking a professional and reliable HGV CLASS 1 DRIVER to join our Clients logistics team based in Wolverhampton. The successful candidate will be responsible for safely transporting goods across various routes, ensuring timely deliveries, and maintaining high standards of vehicle safety and cleanliness. Experience with flatbed Class 1 Driving is preferred, along with a strong commitment to safety and customer service. Working Hours/Days/Pay Monday to Friday Flexible Working Hours DAYS/NIGHTS Overtime Available £14-£15.00per hour based on experience Temporary Contract – Holiday cover/sickness cover Job summary Wolverhampton 40 hours per week Temporary role 14-£15 About the role MUST HAVE HELD CLASS 1 LICENSE FOR MINIMUM 2 YEARS AND MUST BE 25+ YEARS OLD MUST HAVE VALID CPC AND TACHO Responsibilities -Safely operate flatbed lorries to deliver goods to specified locations. -Plan routes efficiently to meet delivery schedules while adhering to all traffic laws and safety regulations. -Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle, ensuring it is in optimal condition before and after each journey. -Secure loads properly on flatbeds, ensuring safe transportation of goods. -Maintain accurate records of deliveries, mileage, fuel consumption, and vehicle maintenance reports. -Communicate effectively with dispatchers and clients regarding delivery times or any unforeseen delays. -Assist with loading and unloading goods when necessary, ensuring proper handling procedures are followed. -Follow all health and safety protocols to minimise risks during transit and loading activities. About you -Proven experience as a commercial driver, preferably with delivery driver experience involving flatbed vehicles. -Valid driving licence suitable for commercial vehicles (category C or equivalent). -MUST HAVE HELD CLASS 1 LICENSE FOR MINIMUM 2 YEARS -Prior experience with flatbed transportation is highly desirable. -Knowledge of current road regulations and safety standards within the UK. -Demonstrated ability to operate large vehicles safely over long distances under various weather conditions. -Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage time effectively and meet delivery deadlines.
